It is curious as to why WP decided to announce this to the drivers & the world before Bathurst, especially on the back of the Sandown 500 win. It looks a little inelegant..

Maybe so GT could start looking?

Really it becomes knowledge quickly when drivers are looking for contracts and suddenly stop looking

They need to announce at some stage and they're better off going to potential commercial partners with a complete package. Harder to get deals done when you can't tell them who your drivers are.

Agree on the timing but sometimes it's what you have to do.

TBH other than a HANDFUL of drivers in the field the rest haven't set any of the world on fire either but totally hearing you. He has a lot of damaged cars under his belt.

The question could be whether Garth has designs on owning a team after he retires. He had a strong brand, the idea could have legs.

its the sad state of modern sport where the money is too good so the older drivers/players wont voluntarily step down.

However they tend to make awesome enduro drivers if they keep there eye in

You know he won Sandown last weekend? Hardly over the hill though..
The new chassis for him has made a significant difference.

Sandown is an enduro and he has his eye in. Was really good in last years enduros as well (won the the enduro cup)

Didnt Tander proudly declare a week ago that he KNEW where he would be next year? Surely if he KNEW where he was going, then he cant be disappointed by getting the bottle and glass from Walkinshaw?
