Dermot Carnegie - 2003 MSA British Rallycross Champion

After the whole Blyton farce, i think that everyone's forgot the fact that Dermot claimed his 5th British Rallycross Title last weekend.

Congratulations to Dermot who once again has won by being Mr Consistent. Whenever he hasn't won outright he's almost always been on the podium. He's been a superb representative for the British series over the years and probably the most successful.

And we all thought this championship would go all the way to Brands?? It looks like Brands will be a battle for 2nd in the championship between Will and Pat now.

Excellent result, just a shame it didn't go down to the wire at brands hatch. That means Carnegie will retire from the sport as champion - a fitting way for him to go out I think, since I've been watching rallycross he's been consistently amongst the front runners and has a superbly entertaining driving style. Good work fella!

Great result from Dermot - a top driver on the track and a really nice guy off it (hey, gotta love anyone who buys marshals drinks! )

I assume this will put paid to his yearly rumblings about retiring!

Without doubt Dermot is one of the best ever drivers in rallycross history. The championship would have been much the poorer if he decided to hang up his helmet.

I echo what EP says, top driver and nice bloke too. (He also buys clerks drinks too).
