So the V6 Diesel is so much better than the V4 petrol engine and Porsche therefore will use the Diesel instead of the petrol? Hopefully this is just some journo making stories up, and not the truth!

A similar Spanish site duped a whole bunch of WRC fans with rumours about Vodafone coming in to sponsor the Ford rally team.
I don't really get stuff like that to be honest. Maybe a sense of humour failure on my part. |

Baretzky stated in his presentation at a lecture in London that Porsche will use petrol, though making it sounds like a pure technical decision rather than VAG politics

Don't mean to stir up trouble but didn't people say in the summer that the Penske Porsche deal was already done contrary to some later facts. Is that the reason we haven't seen a livery yet? Roger Penske still wants to win Le Mans. He's not getting any younger.

I changed that. The Audi source was from another forum. The Porsche source was Mr. Segura's own LinkedIn page.

Autosport do have a story about Lotus F1 CEO Patrick Louis stepping down, but nothing yet about José Gallego Segura's apparent departure to Porsche LMP1 which is confirmed on his LinkedIn profile and Twitter account.
I don't know if anything has been reported by the press yet regarding José Gallego Segura's departure to Porsche. |

Opportunistic hire? If head staff are jumping ship at Lotus (talks in the F1 forum about money issues) and good people are on the open market, why not? It may not be an indication of problems at Porsche, but rather the ability to improve?

Getting another POV on aero development? Like with the new Audi, I don't think that we've seen the final iteration of the Porsche bodywork on the test and show cars. Seems maybe like another brain to pick to me.
Of course, the Audi R15 resulted from a car that was sort of designed by committee, and aside from Sebring '09, suffered from all kinds of problems, mostly related to bodywork and resultant packaging. Audi had only one main aero guy for the R18, which was much more successful. |

That of course sounds sensible and it makes a lot of logical sense, but at the same time if the matter is just to get another point of view, you don't replace the Head of Aero.... How would the current head and the stuff underneath feel if top shelf comes one morning and goes: "Oi, we thought it would be good to get another point of view, so some of you are getting demoted/let go and starting Monday there will be new head of aero, who is also going to bring few others he has worked with for years, and so yeah, we are gonna move things around here, but please, please, please - do not worry too much, this is purely to get another point of view!"....
You of course may be right. We just have to wait and see what happens in the next couple of months. |
