4x4 in France
In the Triumph Sports 6 club magazine this month there's a piece about what to take/leave behind/do etc when driving in France, ready for Le Mans.
Most of it is familiar stuff- beam convertors, warning triangle, bulbs etc but it also states that from last October 4x4's should use dipped headlights at all times outside built up areas. Seems like an odd rule to me, is it so that you know the vehicle following you needs more room to stop or will have to slow down more for bends or perhaps it's because Landrovers and Jeeps tend to be painted in camoflage? Is this Europe wide or just France? Is it compulsary? (Dosn't affect me btw, I don't have one) |

And how do they define '4x4'? Does a Subaru Justy count or what about the older Mitsubishi Shoguns that can't use 4x4 mode on tarmac?
