It seems like the development race will nearly cease in the future. GT500 will be one package from the beginning and hope you get it right unless there is something like a joker upgrade. That's sad to me as I've been watching Super GT for years now and I always looked forward to seeing the new types of aero the cars bring. Looks like that won't be happening in the future.

Blergh. Every time I read about this Class One nonsense the worse it gets. Although people do say Super GT will just stay as it is and be unaffected. I want to believe that but I can't see how?

*Team apr is already developing successor of Prius GT.
It will become challenging car including base car choice.
It will revealed at 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon.

*New team for 2019 season were introduced at SGT entrant meeting on Sep.14.
One team is already known in SGT. it will participate in GT300 class by Japanese car.
The other team is rumored potential Asian team.

As much as I like to, their chances of winning the championship is slim.

I hoped the Prius GT300 successor will be hybrid capabilities as well as mid-engined as well.

Tbh, I hoped the reborn MR2 will be debut on next year with the race car same phase as BMW M8 as they develop the race car first aftert that they debut the production car.

I'm going to guess that the next Toyota GT300 that's not an RC F GT3 is going to be the Supra. I don't know if it will be the GT500 car because Lexus is the premier brand and it looks better to have it win overall in Japan imo. We'll probably see more very soon.

Interesting. Could this one be the new entrant in GT300?
Usually Novel Racing races in VLN Nurburgring (mainly the 24h) with non-GT3 spec Lexus RC F & IS F.

Ricky Chiba told Racing On magazine that Team TAISAN (#26) will withdraw from SGT at the end of the season.
Instead, they will focus on EV race activity.

Taisan will sell multiple significant cars at an auction held during the Sound Of Engine event in Suzuka on 17 Novembre including their JGTC F40, the Advan STP GT-R Group A from 1991, the Yunker GT300 Porsche 996, the GT300 STP Viper GTS-R and their GT300 GT-R GT3. Chiba-san needs cash to fund his next move apparently.
