Derek Porter has used his in the MGCC Luffield speed championship, and I plan to do a few with mine soon, maybe Wiscombe in September

Actually seeing that you can pick one up for next to nothing, power for pounds paid they go well, and if you fit the later head gasket they are reliable.

I know Autocar raved about the balanced handling and great steering on this car and despite the design being quite old, I really loved the aggressive styling of the final refresh. They only criticised the lack of power, (eh? 180bhp, 60 in 7.2 secs). I would love to see one in action.

unfortunately, I don't get down south much. But, Pugdriver205, I am going to sprint my daily driver next year and give my classic a rest.
Any reccomendations for brake pads on my completely original unmodified 87 205 gti 1.9?
cheers Claypole.

It's the V6 in the 180, so head gaskets aren't an issue. I'm looking at a ZS for next year but may not be a 180...

Hi - Good question - to be honest I originally put green stuff pads on - Then realised they were no better than the bog normal Ferodo's !!
They work fine.....

This is not good news, could mean I will be on my own in the NSCC Classic Car Class?

Panic not rustyalp, I'm still in two minds, I had such a good day at Hethel yesterday, I'm wouldn't mind developing the Bond still further, but that will take big money now, LSD or close ratio gearbox, it's all so costly.
Have you been out since Curborough?

David, will be interesting to see how you get on. Let us know (MGCC Wiscombe results always seem hard to find) - would have liked to attend but that's the weekend that we all leave the UK.
