Hardly a surprise, the factory support for both had already ended before this season.

Why stick with a car you know is on the way out when you have the capability and availability to switch? Also, would it be churlish to assume that the Prius & CR-Z cost more to run than the Subie/MC/GT3 cars because of their hybrid systems? And I don't think the manufacturers are bothered about the hybrid cars anymore, aren't they going to stop supporting them next season?

Edit - Thanks for the correction carbsmith, I didn't realize both cars had lost factory support already.

Well maybe I shouldn't say "support" because I'm sure they still get some engineering assistance and financial help running the cars just because of the technology and the team relationships with the manufacturer, but neither car is being actively developed by the factory anymore. Mugen was the major partner in the CR-Z project.

Ferrari 488 GT3 has been unveiled in Mugello by Ferrari yesterday.
But the price of Ferrari 488 GT3 at least 525,000 Euros or 630,000 Euros !!!
the car is believed to be the most expensive GT3 racer of the new generation.

I bet Direction Racing (#77)and Team Taisan can't afford Ferrari 488 GT3 for next season of SUPER GT!!

Well I think Ferrari will have higher priority to European/USA teams (for various series with GT3 cars) to test the car directly for its debut season.

So far I haven't heard about planning of Japanese teams to buy 488 GT3, maybe it's too soon to judge if they can afford to buy the car or not.

Probably different case with M6 GT3, it's available for Japanese team (Studie) next year.

But how about Lamborghini Huracan GT3 ???? . Do you heard about planning to buy Huracan GT3 for Japanese team????

@Japanese Samurai
Will Team Taisan and Direction Racing purchase Lamborghini Huracan GT3 or other GT3 car as Ferrari 488 GT3 is too expensive to own????

Actually JLOC already planned for it (http://www.endurance-info.com/fr/jlo...ec-deux-autos/) but I think they're forbidden by current rules not to change cars at mid-season. Another that, JLOC ran Huracan at Super Trofeo at Japan.

More than that, I have no idea at all. Probably you need to ask more informations from teams' insiders or waiting for official news.

hvr777 is right that you should go to Japan talk to the teams directly for news instead, AkioAsakura95.

Meanwhile, I still can't believe that both CR-Z and Prius won't be competing in 2016!

Will they use the GT3 cars or Mother chassis car???? as CR-Z and Prius won't be competing in next season.

lacking of available components & factory support (mostly based on LMP-purpose engine components) force those cars to retire. Feeling sorry for Prius GT300 (I think this year it has chance for the title), while the car is much stronger than before (but its rivals are getting more powerful).

Meanwhile, no any announcements about new cars to succeed those cars.

I don't think the demise of either Prius or CR-Z is confirmed yet, though I think its likely. Would leave the Subaru the only JAF GT300 out there, unless of course Honda/Toyota teams have a plot. They have a plot.

Yes I'd be highly surprised if they didn't have a plot. I can see Toyota running a 86 of some type but Honda I'm not sure about.

According to Masataka Bandoh blog,
team Bandoh (#19) will do a 4 days tire test at Sepang, after Motegi round.

Looks like the team will miss TGRF event because of the test (well I try to understand through Google Translate, CMIIW). And Bandoh-san remains ambitious to be on the same level with Lexus top team (such as #36, #37, #38 car) next year..

I could imaging the RX-Vision racing once again in GT3 form (and not the Mother Chassis one).

Still, it would be nice if RE Amemiya would work on this in the future!

Looks like it's more to "finished job" for CR-Z as running lab for hybrid system development for NSX Concept-GT.
Hopefully Takashi Kobayashi & Shinichi Takagi will get chance in other teams next year
