Thanks! Guess you're right. Combination of weight to Porsche and performance breaks to AMR. Its amazing how 25kg can affect the performance.

Well ..... after being at Le Mans this year and seeing a belter of a GT battle all race long ...I have this to say .
The Ferrari 458 is a super sounding machine , looks great and driven like a demon ..... I love it . But by far the most impressive car sound ..... listening to the Corvette exiting the 2nd chicane and going up through the gears and then coming back down through the gears for Mulsanne corner ....and off towards Indyanapolis corner ..... sat there at Mulsanne for hours . I was hoping for a Ferrari win in Pro and Dempsey for Am . Excellant race . |

Agree, the 458 GTE has a really aggressive and loud sound! If you close your eyes and listen that sound you won't never think about a ferrari.
I am not a ferrari fanboy, but I think that the 458 GTE is the best GTE/GT2 car produced so far! the only problem of ferrari is the average official drivers quality. Something like Bruni \ \ \ Vilander \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ All the others (fisichella, bertolini, beretta etc...) if memory helps me, without Bruni, ferrari teams never achieved important results! only 2012 PLM maybe, but there was vilander to help ESM boys |

Memory serves you right. And yeah the Ferrari factory driver squad is pretty weak.
Bruni's resume is pretty unbelievable but no one really talks about it. |

AF Corse is testing in Vallelunga with the 51 and the 71 plus they are testing at Paul Ricard with 11-12 cars (looking at the photos). I can't even imagine the budget needed for an operation like this.. |

AF Corse have said in the past that a lot of their budget for WEC comes from the customer programs they run all over the world in different series. Must be some serious money to be made running so many cars.

Disagree, the 2 cars WEC gt-pro program is completely financed officially by ferrari. The WEC gt-am program is financed by the customers that use AF Corse cars (luis perez companc, enzo potolicchio etc...)

I'm sure Ferrari tip in a fair bit of money but it wouldn't completely pay for the Pro class effort. If Ferrari were indeed paying for everything wouldn't you think they'd rather do themselves? And let's face it a GT program requires far less money and people then an LMP1 programme |

In WEC gt-pro class you have to consider AF Corse like manthey is for porsche or RLL for BMW. |

Fair enough, I knew Ferrari tipped some money in and gave them the factory pilots for free but was always under the impression that the funding split was more half half. |

Regrets to our Ferrari friends: IMO the exit of Luca di Montezemolo does not promise good things in the near future.

They're panicking about F1 obviously but I don't think it means anything for the current GT programmes or the possible aspects of future LMP1. Everything below F1 has been an afterthought for so long anyway that change isn't necessarily for worse. It's not like LdM was the most universally loved figures either...
