Hi Newbe

I take it you mean in terms of a training day? If so, it depends who is doing it for the exact contents.

If its for Silverstone Marshals Team the main topics we covered were

Introduction to Marshaling

Incident Handling

Flag Marshaling

Fire Theory

Fire Practical

There were plenty of video extracts

Lots of tea and coffee and a tour of Race Control

Sounds very similar to the Donington one last weekend.

Should it not be the same everywhere?
As the MSA set what modules need to be covered before being able to upgrade to track.

Can't find the link at the moment, but there is a table with all the requirements on the msa site.

Yes ideally the content (and quality) would be consistent for any discipline and grade. The content and quality of training days has often varied significantly across the country..... the move to the modular approach with specific content per grade goes some way to addressing this.

But that's last year's version ......... only joking

However, as with all things marshalling not all the answers are in one place .... there is some underlying detail that goes along with these relating to training signatures for some grades (not Trainee) having to be spread over two days but with only one day a year.
