Well done Fernando!!! 18th ahead of the two Benettons, Tarso Marques and PDLR. What a stunning performance. Just think of how slow the Minardi's are, and a 19 year old Qualifies one in front of the 11th row of the Grid for the 4th time in five races!

Alonso has quietly and steadily let his driving do the talking. I hope the top teams are listening. I'd like to see him with Mercedes or BMW power in his car. I hope Dennis/Haug or Williams/Berger are looking.

yep, i am impressed with fernando's effort to, although i am sure he has done a million laps around this circuit, albeit not in an f1 car......
maybe mr badoer can give some marlboro money to minardi - no come to think of it, why dont repsol get behind fernando, there is some good tv exposure in this talented driver... |

I think some round here are getting a bit carried away with this Alonso fever.
My man of the qualifying has got to be Kimi Raikkenon in 9th, out qualifying is team mate, Panis and Montoya. |

Raikkonen and Alonso - both of them the stars of this season so far.
Raikkonen AND Alonso have both proved they have what it takes to get to the top of F1, their performances in qualifying and the races all this season have been superb. GO KIMI AND GO MINARDI!!! YAYAYAYAY!!! |
