karimbo has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Will Ryan Briscoe race some more?

He had a very good Indy 500. Who knows how well he would have done if it hadn't rained.

Will the team continue with him or was it just for a race ?

drdisque should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
unlikely

He is signed up to race the full ALMS season for Penske and the team was assembled from the Penske IndyCar shop crew who prepare and rebuild the cars at the team's shop in North Carolina.

It was an impressive performance, even if it was a de facto Penske entry, but with the ALMS programme I can't see him back in IRL.

Deserves another shot a single-seat racing though.

Got to say, with another re-start and 34 laps remaining, Briscoe was sitting in a pretty handy position for the end of the race - just a shame we were never going to get back to racing...

They'd be mad to not try and get him a run on a road course at some point this season.

yeah I don't think it will get another go this season as he is dedicated to winning the ALMS series. But who knows next year, we will have to wait and see.

Well, ALMS shares the bill with the Indy Racing League at Mid-Ohio and Detroit. Perhaps a repeat performance might be seen at those two events. Other than that, though, we've probably seen all of Ryan Briscoe for 2007.

The team has said that they would like to run in some other races and raise money for charity....Let's see if it happens...

June would be a good month to do it, since the ALMS effort is not focusing on Le Mans, and the ALMS doesn't resume until July here in the USA....

Ryan got track position on the strategy but was going to be engulfed by the faster guys coming through if the race went to 200 laps. The two strategies would have evened out by the end with everyone with 1 stop left (see how Helio had already made it back to 3rd). So I think Ryan's result flattered him.

HOWEVER, the idea of putting him on a road course is very good, and I think he'd be difficult to beat in a de facto Penske on a road course.

I believe that Briscoe is a Porsche employee this year, not on Penske's payroll. As such all racing has to be approved by Porsche AG. Not usually a problem, though, unless it's something that conflicts with his Porker duties (or is for Audi or Ferrari).
