Minardi fan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

What do people think of last week's Autosprout, the 50 year special??? I haven't read through it properly yet, but it looks to be interesting and informative, plus it includes a rather nice photo. However, £4.99 seems a bit steep.

I bought it. I mentioned the 50th Anniversary issue in the 'Imola 1994' thread in the F1 forum.

I don't think a fiver's too much - you pay that every time for a cruddy Official Playstation mag - and I know which I'd rather have! (And besides, it's a one-off, celebration issue, and look at the work that's gone into it! It's only twice the price.)

Best Autosport for ages. Usually, once I've opened a 'standard' issue, I'll read it in one sitting, and then throw it in the mag-rack, never to be opened again. This one, I can't stop picking it up and jumping into whatever page it opens up at!!
There's some really great stuff in there.

Anyway, if you haven't bought it yet, too late. It's Thursday, and there will be a new, slimline edition waiting for you, at the regular £2.60!

I agree with everything Sparky said, except I think its on sale for 3 weeks. Well worth a fiver.

I thought that it was well worth a fiver.
Hours of browsing, loads of interesting stuff and worth putting in the archives with the history books.

Maybe they should make the weekly version cheaper, £2.60 is a bit steep for what it is, a quick read.

I bought it and it looks fantastic.
Haven't read everything yet, there's simply too much.
Beautiful pictures too.
And the cost of the magazine? Worth every penny!

I agree - if they can give us a bumper issue for £4.99, then I think £2.60 is far to steep for a very quick read indeed.

M-fan, I just got mine today and had to pay $12.50. I cooked dinner with it on the kitchen counter and enjoyed the Damon Hill Article over a glass of wine. For those of us in the colonies, its hard to find but worth the effort.

I thought it was generally a good effort but suffered by being tacked onto that weeks' "regular" issue. A special, dedicated issue would have been better.
Disappointed that there was no mention of one of my favourite Autosport reporters, Joe Saward.I'd like to know what he's up to now.
By the way, I'm still hugely peeved at Autosport for their pomposity a couple of months ago in daring to equate Jackie Stewart with Buzz Aldrin. I mean, get a grip!
The forthcoming Mansell/Faldo comparison sounds real exciting, eh?

Was that Stewart/Aldrin thing in Autosport? I thought I saw it in F1. Hard to keep track.

I have the 50th Anniversary Issue and paid $15.95 for it, but agree that it's well worth it. I like the cartoon "Best Wishes" especially and had fun picking out the little pilotes of all the different cars. In another 25 years it'll be interesting to go back and see how many of them I can remember.

I priced a subscription and it would cost me about $550.00 Canadian for a year. It isn't as painful when you pay it out $8.00 at a time.

My copy Was $7.70, the same price as the regular issue is down here. The newsagents in Adelaide didn't seem to notice that it was a special issue.

Worth getting but I don't think I would have bothered if it wasn't for the bargain.

Just a case of South Aussies feeling sorry for themselves after losing the GP to Melbourne!! Nah... I hate Melbourne as well, but how the hell could they not notice the price difference?! Normally we do pay about that $7-8 mark, but to get the 50th for that, you should've bought a pile, started up a newsagent and sold them at full price! Would convert to about $12-13, methinks...

Liz, I thought the Canadian dollar was in better shape than the Oz? You pay too much if you got charged $16CA...
