Rockingham btcc 19/20 Thankyou

On behalf of myself and BARC, I would like to thank all marshals from all disciplines for a excellent weekend of motorsport. A terrific job well done by everyone, and for once we had the "Sunshine" for the whole 2days.!!
Great, thanks again.

Thanks Phil. A cracking w/ends racing. Shame a certain JP spoilt the last race by colliding with three cars by us, the gap was not there.

Really enjoyed myself on post 10 flags, very busy weekend down there with plenty of cars trying to go 5 abreast.

Thanks Phil. I had a great weekend at post 17-plenty of overtaking, bumping & spinning but nothing too serious, apart from #14 Clio clouting the barrier in the first race. The whole weekend flew by, which is a good sign. Was probably one of my best events of the year, along with LMS last weekend.

Great to see so many marshals at Rockingham. A couple of first time visitors on post were very impressed with the place so hope to see more in the future.

Chris - thanks for doing my assessment & I'll probably see you at a meeting soon.

Cheers Phil,

Very good two days flagging at post 18, good to see a few newbies arrive just before lunch too, very enthusiastic father and daughter, Reg & Bec.

Not the most thrilling racing, but a great breakfast at the courtyard cafe, good company on post, toilet near by, great weather and £15 in the raffle, what more could you want? (well maybe Harry Vaulkards Grid Girl)

Just dont mention these three words though- Phillipa/Collard/Extinguisher

This weekend was one of my favourite ones of my marshaling to date. The racing was good, banter on post was great, I even got some action (I was on post 16 and was one of the first on scene when the two formula Renaults came together - I had fun shouting to the driver to come back to take it out of gear ). It was good to meet Reg and Beccs, too. As has been said above they were very enthusiastic, and looked smart in there Dunlop caps, when they got them.

Thanks to all for making a great weekend. I'll be back next year!

Had a great weekend on post 3A (the box) and the guys/girls on the post around me were a great laugh. Good racing and I managed to get a bit of sun on my face Oh and "thanks to the recovery guys for clearing the track" - not mentioning the marshals lol

Thanks to all

Hi to all the folks I met yesterday. My first "proper" meeting as a trainee, and proper good it was too even though I was out in the sticks on 16A inside Gracelands.

From where we were it looked like those on 9, 10 and 11 were having a lot of fun and ZombieSheep's FRenault prang looked very entertaining.

Someone needs to start a Safety Car Championship, though - the SC drivers from yesterday would have scored a lot of points!

Unfortunately today though I have amazing panda eyes from my shades. Stronger SPF for me next time out...

Never less than SPF30! I can recommend Piz Buin All Day-it lasts for ages as you only need to apply it every 6 hours

Had a busy but great time on post 11 met Ramsay for the first time what a great observer he is even if he did take the micky out of me all weekend lol. Only downside to the weekend was the abysmal camping area we had.

Can I just add my thanks to all on post 19 for making my first visit to the Rock so enjoyable.

I'd also like to add that it goes to prove that you can't believe everything you see written within these forums - I found absolutely nothing to complain about regarding the facilities and would certainly consider further visits if it wasn't for the distance.

I started the day with a face full of SPF50 and I still caught it.

Unfortunately the best SPF for me is a hessian sack (that's quite good for my looks too before anyone throws that one in), but that makes attending live incidents a tad tricky

As an aside, the Spitfire display at lunchtime was breathtaking. It's the first time I can recall being properly underneath a display like that - at one point I swear I could see up the pilot's nose!

I probably could have picked it for him I know what you mean, though....I was definitly thinking that getting "closer to the action" in this case was yet another perk of the job.

Will try to find a better ladder for next year.

Great too see many new faces on the Startline / Pits.

Still 1 more meeting at the Rock this season - 7th November, hope a few come to that meeting, Matt's says Portsmouth is too far.

Phil even got a name check on ITV4 (spotted on recording, thanks for Sky+)

This was my first taste as life as a marshal, and although post 2a didn't see alot of action, I enjoyed my time, and will be back at another event in the near future.

Thanks to all on 2A for making me feel welcome!
