Since it's the time of year when people are thinking about which events they are going to, what are the views of you folks around the world on the price of F1 GP Tickets?

For example: Belgium GP @ Spa, GA Weekend Ticket £80.

British GP £90 for race day alone.

Italian GP @ Monza GA Weekend Ticket £53

A big variation in prices???

Ok, so you have to get to races in other countries, but I can do the Belgium and Italian trips for less than the cost of a weekend @ Silverstone.

Good topic, is the Belgium price so low I thought is was about £115 GA or something like that?

Reasons well I guess they must include:

- exchange rate the strong pound tends to make some of the other countries look pretty cheap.

- what you can get away with (or supply/demand) the US GP tickets start from very low prices (someone give me the exact figure?) perhaps because they don't think at £90GA they could ever fill Indianapolis.

Even allowing for the above there are still differences perhaps from

- tradition/culture
- the objectives of the circuit owners plc. status or not too much pressure to turnover a big profit.

It is fair to say the UK is expensive though GA at CART Surfers Paradise was about the same as BTCC meeting!

What do others think why the price differences between countries themselves and series eg. F1 vs. CART etc.

I can't remember the prices for one day of the Australian GP, but I know my ticket (Brabham stand, the most expensive non-corporate seats) was AU$500 for 4 days. General Admission is a huge amount cheaper, especially if it is only for one day.

I have checked out Silverstone and it runs 90 pounds for Sunday only, 25 and 35 pounds for Friday and Saturday respectively. Makes for a pretty expensive ticket for the entire weekend. Over 200 dollars American for the whole deal, and does not include a centre transfer to the infield seating areas. I was planning to do the whole weekend, but now have changed to do just a Sunday ticket and will spend 25 pounds for the BTCC event at Donington the following day.

And just think, you'll be able to meet up with the ten-tenths gang in Redgate Lodge at Donington
If you take your GP ticket along to Donington you can get half price entry.

General admission for all 4 days of the Australian GP is AU$135 = 54 pounds. A race day ticket is AU$80 = 32 pounds. That's a bargain if you ask me.

I have a 4-day reserved grandstand seat for the Australian GP, for $300 (GBP 120). Sound pretty cheap to you in England?

I'd love to meet up with the Donington gang. A fellow poster and good friend of mine, Pablo, and I will be staying in Leicester during our visit to the UK. Look forward to meeting up you.

I thought Monza was a very good deal. I'm hoping to go to Melbourne in the Real Millenium so I'm glad the prices are decent.

I think that Monza is not only a "good deal" when it comes to ticket prices.
It's also the GP with the best atmosphere, even if you don't like red cars.

I think the Canadian GP is one of the better deals. Too bad it's right in the middle of my exams. .

Pit side tickets cost $380 CA for the 3 days.

I might get general admission tickets for the Sat. or Sun.

If anybody knows any good General admission places let me know.
