Hi all. Thanks for the birthday wishes. Been somewhat busy but nowhere near as challenged as Mike and those trying to cross the channel.

So Goodyear have gone... Wonder if their reman fracture will be as terrible as Dunlop?

Is there any point in trying to keep this country's manufacturing going with expensive capital transport projects? We have no manufacturing left!

Looks like the mother in the background is smiling too!

That Delta! He's a lad.

An aging preparer from Reading,
Asked a maid "Are you ready for bedding"
She patted his cheek,
Said something in Greek,
Which meant not 'til after the wedding.

Just to keep things decent, you understand.

We do make getting on for 2 million cars per year (admittedly mostly by foreign owned companies), but about 2/3 of them are for export.......

JCB, Bombardier trains, Rolls Royce aero engines - and that's all just in the Derby-Uttoxeter area - are amongst the worlds best.

True. But that's more assembly. We don't actually MAKE things from raw materials as we used to.

The one thing we do very well though is design and technology and marine and civil engineering. Others implement it.

I have been reading the limericks you have written about Iain and the young lady racer at Monza,

I have penned one myself but do not belong to ten tenths and wondered if you might place this on my behalf and say it's from a "Well Wisher"

Iain asked a young lady for a kiss.
She was a cracker, a racer and Swiss
He leaned over and smelt her
And whispered " My name is Delta"
She said "are you taking the p...?

While I agree Delta, I have told you before we are not having a Barbie, but a Social Evening' with raffle and quiz, plus a little light refreshments.

We do not want the event hi-jacked by any third party.

Any donations to the raffle will be welcome, the rest I leave to 'Boss Man'.

See you all there,

Bauble your Genial Inquizitor.
