EXACTLY, and I found the article and the clip from Car & Driver TV about the C6 and C6R development and shows them taking frame parts from the FACTORY line and crating them up to go to P&M shop for the buildup of the first C6Rs

I have met David Richards (don't call him Dave!!) a few times and what a thoroughly nice bloke, it helps that he can drive cars and has the knowledge of the Automotive/Racing industry to make Prodrive a world class business. This just goes to highlight that someone with a bit of nouse (as well as money) can do all the right things.....shame the same cannot be said of there neighbours at Ascari!!

Just because they crated them up doesn't mean they used 'em. It is up to the scrutineers to satisfy themselves as to how the car lines up against the homologation

Well that is a somewhat valid point. The answer to the original issue is in your statement though! Just how many Corvettes have been disqualified by the scrutineers? NONE !! So it must be legal, which is the answer to the issue! But some people refuse to except the evidence as the answer!!

There just has to be a multi-continental,multi-orginizational bilateral conspiracy perpitrated by GM to get the Corvettes past the scrutineers! Give me a break!

Just about any ALMS or Grand AM team will have larger opporations. But they are small compared to the NASCAR teams digs or F1.

If the brown envelope is large enough you can get almost anything done. (Check Wikipedia for American foreign policy)

It is simply that people do not like it when someone wins all the time as in the Ferrari/Schumaker era before Renault. Conspiracy theory is part of life at the moment, you hear some belting ideas but I am quite happy that the eligability people I know in Europe do a good job and have no reason to think otherwise in the USA. We have talked in various threads about engine parts and now someone is talking about chassis rails, I am sure if there was any truth in the alegations someone from Prodrive would be onto it in a flash, DR has been around too long to let it go past.

I think they use that big BROWN envelope to bring the BULLET proof Surbans over for the diplomats, not Corvette race cars.

Isn't there an OT thread some place ??

Re Atomic Kitten: WSR by another name - ran in the BTCC running gareth howell and I think Turkington.

as for legality of C6R well I dunno but certainly the Audi R10 was slighly outside the regs.

Well according to a DSC article the Corvette gets 6% bigger restrictor but doesn't really need it. As long as there are different engine types, 100% equal balance will never be achieved with simple control measures such as air restrictors and some charts.
