Congratulations to JB-F1 (GL) and Zonked (LI) for winning the last round of the season, and for "outsiders" Bleu (TT) and Speedworx (GL) who were the best ones predicting final positions of both 2009 GP2 Drivers and Teams Championships. Mentions to pericu (TT), who with Speedworx were the only who predicted Hülkenberg as GP2 Champion.
Observations:
R10 Portimão:
- Robbe (TT): Posted Di Grassi twice (3rd and 6th) in his R1 predictions, so these parts of it weren't valid.
- Peralta (TT): His predictions were only for Pérez for the win, but is very vague, so can't put a spot on it to validate.
- Greimito (LI): Sent predictions after deadline, so they weren't valid for this round.

With all round results cleared, we present...

Ramblings about forum progressions in the 2009 GP2 Two Worlds Prediction Competition:

Ten-Tenths: Ten-Tenths proved to be again the core forum of GP2 TWPC, albeit this year had more than a half contenders than last year. Also had to battle with stronger contenders from other forums, with runshaw, their best scorer, as runner-up in the Championship, and only other two, sauber11 and chunterer, finishing in top ten positions. Alas, they have one of the highest scorers in a round, in the figure of Bleu, for the Championships Round. Nonetheless, their number of participants were constant and with this earned with some ease Forums Championship, clinching another title to their fame...

Los Tuercas: Despite another year with no Argentinian presence at all, but with races televised on Argentina, this forum mantained almost the level of previous season... They manage to have a base of around 7-8 concursants and ensure the vicechampionship. Ignacio.R and Roberto.R, whose positions were equal to the milimeter, and maximiliano puig could also enter in the top ten positions of the final standings. Great thanks for Los Tuercas for all the attention to the Competition done all over the year.

ClubF1: This Spanish forum did a leap forward, despite mantaining about the same base as last year. They have the Competition champion, kamikaze666 (who entered as sancho-kun in 2008) and had also a good performance from Sidney Watkins. Surprisingly, they had no round winners this season.

F1-Live: Entering in both Spanish and English forums, it had a compact group of four players. Two of them were round winners, and fortunately all of them showed consistency. revngo was their best player of this year.

GlobalF1: This year, the presence of this forum was more tiny than previous years; showed capabilities but lacked on presence. Only two regular contenders of the year, whose best one was JB-F1, who also was one of the highest scorer in a round, at the Championship predictions. We hope they could gain some interest next term.

VT-F1: Another forum with two regular players around the year, with surprisingly Sammyed as the best concursant. He was also the only round winner of the forum. But the best thing of it is that the forum could revive from its vegetative form this year and now roses happily.

TuercasNews: The newcomers of the year did a discrete job on their debut. With also two regular concursants, they can't have the "reminders" (last day round reminders) as other forums due to lack of MPs. But despite that they did a good job, with Emi as their best player.

F1Latam: This forum continued with their tiny presence, with only one regular, with an occasional second player. TOLEMAN HART was the best of them, mainly by his consistence.

Thef1.com Actuality forum: The forum with less presence on the Competition, with occasional no presences in some rounds. melendi was a round winner, but it was Bubu, also by consistence, who was the best player of the year.

In an aftermath, the season showed a sensible decline in the number of players, perhaps this form of predictions competition lost some of its fame, or perhaps because the series isn't new now. That's a problem that didn't affect GP2 TWPC only, but also our "rival" GP2 Pickems of Motorsport.com Forum. Moreover, the rounds sometimes were hardly predictable, with many surprising polemans, winners, and fastest lap scorers. Fortunately, it was TV presence in Latin America, so people of forums of those latitudes could see the races during the year. But after all, we have to show gratitude to many users who trusted and put consistence to participate in this Competition.

About 2010, Ten-Tenths, Los Tuercas, ClubF1, GlobalF1 and VT-F1 are ensured to continue; the rest will be put in consideration. Alas, we're opened to new forums to join - If you are in a forum where is interest on GP2 Series and want our Prediction Competition running there, give notice to us!

On a last note, we'll consider to do GP2 Asia Prediction Competition again, probably at Ten-Tenths and GlobalF1, but have to ensure if the rest of the forums could be interested or not to be in, because it will run in the winter time (summer for these of Southern Hemisphere), when F1 world is normally in the inter-season.

Thanks a lot Mekola, what a brilliant job you do . I'm relatively happy with my position considering I missed 3 mid-season rounds (Great Britain, Germany and Hungary) although that's my fault so I'm not complaining about it!

Look forward to pitting my wits against you all again in 2010, if not in the 2009-10 Asia Series!
