Interesting dates...only one Brands trip? Snetterton can almost be called central, definitely seems to favour the midland based competitiors

Bear in mind there is a proviso issued w that more dates are likely to be added...especially at Donington I would expect

I think a lot of drivers will be happy with the NWFF dates but I will imagine a lot will be very ****ed off with the Southern and Midlands dates....

If MSV only got 8 drivers to Snetterton with low entry fees and prize money then......

Looks OK to me...could do with adding one more Brands and a Donnington fixture...but if not we'll just have to join in with the NW at Donny..... Also, don't forget the F4 champs are going to Thruxton this year and you can enter a FF1600....

The spread of dates is good but that is the only positive thing I can say about the MMMMsMM champs. Snet is a long way to go for a single header!!

The battle for C of B will be close this year!!

Seems to be what people didnt want, single headers at circuits poorly supported last year.

Is it possible to get these changed / or is this another issue like the steel cranks where the BRSCC will just do what they want?

Surely a 12 round series made up of 4 x Mallory 4 x BH and 4 x Away fixtures (at say Snett/Silv/Donn) works better?

Living near Cambridge, the spread of dates/tracks works OK for me....but happy to put my support behind the majority in order to race in bigger grids.

Is FF1600 is paying the price for poor grids at Brands to the benfit of other formulae?

So the MSV FF1600 double headers (with prize money, FPA drive and free tyres for best turned out car) were well supported then?

Brands grids weren't that bad compared to Cadwell and Snetterton

Exactly Peter this is crap

What we should have had was three double headers at Brands and Mallory plus Silverstone and Donington may be one Snetterton.

This is an extention of the Midlands championship which is worse than they had this year and I doubt any Brands regulars will do the Snett and Mallory rounds.

No one went to Snett last year for 2 races money etc etc

Brands must have had the largest grids out of these tracks

COB gone forever?

Time for BRDC to organise a championship or BARC (for modern FF1600)?

It seems to me that the BRSCC do the opposite of what the drivers want.

So I vote for clay cranks and ****s race dates in 2006

Like Jez said Formula 4 has cheap entries and great dates -

2 x Brands Hatch
2 x Snetterton
1 x Cadwell Park
1 x Mallory Park
1 x Thruxton
1 x Donington
1 x Silverstone

Most are double headers as well.......

See you all there in 2007!!!

I am sure the 750Mc would love to run FF1600

Yeah but with expensive cars requiring expensive parts, no big events like FF1600, racing isn't as close and the drivers are relatively (compared to FF1600 frontrunners) uncompetitive. Also most of the grid is made up of lesser powered cars which are routinely upto 10 seconds a lap slower!

Cars look good and I bet are fun to drive + plus I am sure you crank wont **** itself like you maintain FF1600s do every 5 minutes, but in my opinion at least they and their series lack everything that makes FF1600 great.

Even though I wasn't in it for long, I will miss the FF1600 racing, but I think I'm gonner enjoy myself in Classic FF2000 this year, plus maybe doing a F4 round or two for track experience. Reading the responses about the Midlands FF1600 for this year, maybe I'm making a good move? I wouldn't have wanted to race FF1600 with paltry grids. I wonder if people rent FF's over a season? I know of a really top-notch VDRF90 with a new engine (Premier Power)

True Justin I agree with most of what you say but the cars are not much more than most FF1600. My new car will cost less than your Ray rolling chassis.

Front and rear wings are $$$£££ and hard to get from Van Diemen but the more people that race the cheaper parts will become. It would look great with a full grid of modern FF2000....

And like you say they do look good.

Come to Mallory on the 2nd March and you can have a go and see what you think.

Justin, right in almost everything. Also what other class can you race pretty much any weekend of the year in? And with little depreciation costs too.

True, although I guess the beauty of FF1600 is that you don't necessarily need a new Ray to win races regionally or nationally, as Dempsey proved - but there are loads of others.

Count me in for Mallory (if I can fit lol)

ps - everything looks good with red bull colours
