The359 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Ginetta-Zytek
I figured this deserved its own thread, branched away from the Petit Le Mans thread.

The only thing I can't figure out is the actual branding. Are all new "Zyteks" going to be branded as the "Ginetta LMP" or something along those lines, or is the name of the chassis "Ginetta-Zytek"?

Just to clarify, it is a new chassis in terms of production, but I do not believe that it is significantly different than the standard 07S chassis, is it? I realize that there have been aero and detail improvements, but I think the tub is still the same, right?

All the same, great to have them along. Also interesting to note that the rumour mill was slightly ass-backwards when they thought that this was going to be the ex-Arena car. Turns out the Corsa car is the ex-Arena chassis. Strange to me that they would buy an old tub...

You've almost answered your own point cmk - if it is basically the same chassis (and it basically is) - why wouldn't Corsa buy a used one?

Isnt there supposed to be a 2nd Zytek with Corsa for 2009 , or is the "works" chassis the one im thinking about ?

I guess I would want to know for sure how an older chassis was maintained. In the case of a manufacturer like Audi, they can keep recycling their tubs because they have been the only ones playing with them. There is always the possibility for flex or for problems at the pickup points which would seem to make an older chassis a riskier investment. However if they have had Zytek go over the car with a fine-tooth comb, then I guess it's all gravy.

Zytek bought the car back from Arena and sold it on to Corsa - I'd guess it is in absolutely tip top condition

Does Mucke actually have a binding Prodrive contract now? Even if he does, Prodrive have generally exempted drivers when an option to race for them at a particular event is not available. I brought up his name because he (and Jan Charouz) ran for Zytek in the P2 car at PLM '07. I don't think LNT are averse to spending a lot either.

Another name which could be thrown into the mix is Shimoda, given his Zytek connections.

I think the reality is that it is a Zytek - whether they rebrand it as a Ginetta Zytek is, I suppose, up to the team - My guess is that they will - For no other reason that the chassis will have received development since its return to Zytek

T-KS has been mentioned but what about his 2007 LMS silverstone 1000Kms partner Danny Watts? Another LNT driver who is also very quick?
