I caught a cool podcast interview on OTT with John Ulrich. Good stuff. Chip from KWS was following along in the chat room and also thinks superbike grids most likely will be in the 16 bike range. He's still trying to do a deal for this year. I'm assuming with Aprilia, or maybe a privateer Suzuki. |

Is the 200 shown live in the US so that a light chance of a streaming somewhere remains ?

Yes, I believe that Speed is carrying the 200 live. The other races will be tape delay.

Yes sir. They have won some superstock races, but never a superbike race.
Although, the superbike class is essentially superstock, so... |

the 200 was interesting, but running it at night was a drag. Very few spectators. Pit stops determined who won, as usual.

Not many "name" riders... Do the manufacturers care about the 200?

Well, the AMA will get a BMW afterall. Chris Peris will ride a S1000RR at the next round at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA. It's a privateer effort with backing from Evan Steel Perfmance and Iron Horse BMW. Unfortunately, they'll be racing on a race by race basis at this stage.

BMW qualified 6 seconds of the pace - got to the end of the race tho, finishing 18th... Larry Pegram won race 1 on his Ducati - top 4 within a second, good racing perhaps from Ducati, Suzuki & Yamaha. Martin Cardenas won the 1st Sportsbike race which was very close aswell
Perhaps things are looking up for the AMA... |

Lol Hayden finally got a win, despite riding the best bike out there!
Fair play to Roger Lee, not taking the money and running in the USA!! |

Was anyone offering Roger Lee money in the USA? Wouldnt have thought so, thats why he probably took the WSB **** Kwaka ride... Still, he keeps his Kwaka connection which may reward him in the US in 2011

Tommy is no Mladin, but I'm quite happy to see him on top of the box. He seems like a nice enough guy. His pace was good last year, but he lacked that "seal the deal" mentality. Hopefully he gets on with it now.
The racing seems pretty competitive, but Daytona and Fontana lend themselves to closer racing. Road Atlanta will offer a better glimpse. But in reality, they're all running bikes that are basically superstock on spec rubber, so no surprises. Hopkins is going to have hand surgery to clean up some scar tissue. |

Hayes had jumped the start in Race 1 and had to serve a ride through. He then was leading the race. About the time he served the ride through there was a red flag. Well, for the restart they reverted to the prior lap. They put Hayes at P1. Well there was a protest filed and it was found that Hayes should have restarted at the back. Young got the win.
