406 Coupe's

Well, is anyone going to be brave or stupid enough to get them out there this year?

I would love to see them in a battle for the indie cup.

It wuld be nice to see HTML or someone run them, but I cant really see it happening. Mind you although they may not be competitive they would still be a way for an aspiring driver/team to get into the touring class.

Don't think they're even for sale, VLR owns them.

Don't be at all surprised to see these on the track come the first meeting at Brands... even if Vic decides not to campaign them himself...

Yeah, I agree. There's always a potential buyer, even if the cars really aren't that good. You have to remember though, that the Indie cup is coming back so therefore there's got to be someone willing to race them. Maybe VLM will drive in the Indie championship instead of the regular Tourer championship.

Well hasn't the VLR/Lexus deal fallen away, so i would expect to see Soper and Eaves to return in the Pug's from last year.

All i hope is that we still see the Lexus' on track as the car has so much potential, especially w/proper testing and a driver like Erdos at the wheel.

Remember Vic said even if the deal with TMSR fell through he'd be on the grid with Lexus'. I think thats all been talk started on another forum about TMSR going into recievership, but infact its ABG.

I agree with Marshal. I've thought that for a while as well.

Vic Lee will not be running the Lexus, I expect him to run the Pugs again. I also expect them to be a lot more competitive.

Remember how much better the Pugs got in the last few races of last year. If they continue the development, they could be close to the front of the field.

You could have them sponsered by iams or some other dog food, refelecting the car's track performance!

They would be in both championships. Scoring normal BTC-T points, but also Indie points for wins and pole positions etc

There is still a suggestion that VLR could run either Lexus or Peugs, The lexus deal is flat but not dead, so it could still happen, but If VLR wan't to be competitive then they should make a choice soon.

Vic Lee has also talked about his desire to run some sports cars and enter Le Mans, so we may not see VLR at all, which will be a sad loss.

With the indie cup now resurected, the 406's would be the best bet for a class win, don't you think.

The independants cup is open to all Independant teams. Therefore can you see a 406 beating the Barwell Astras? I would like to think so, although it is unlikely

So I take it that Barwell will recieve not one tiny bit of 888 support?

Whether or not they receive support from 888 is irrelevant. They are not a works team so are therefore eligible for the independants cup.Team Dynamics received support from Nissan with aero updates etc during 1998 and 1999 yet were still independants. And perhaps VLR will run the 406's and the 1 Lexus that he has as well.
