Colin, if yours is a Honda box then it should be an L3?

I am friends with one of the tech mods on Rovertech, I will ask him if he knows - I have quite a few friends in Honda circles that might know about D16 engine/ gb codes and ratios.

Cars For Sale?

Does anyone have, or know of, one of these types of car available for sale? Want something for next year that can do a combination, but not necessarily all, of these...

Pre '93
Toyo Tires
Tintops
LMA
DMN
Combe Saloons

Thanks in advance

Hi Matt,

I think Colin Stubbs has got a spare Rover Gti for sale, and if you visit www.racingsaloons.com - there are some TTRS eligible cars for sale in the chat area.

Cheers

S.

Matt I still have your old car but its being reshelled which is proving to be a long spare time job! Hopefully it will be our car for next season.
My yellow one should be available at the end of the year.
Both of the others I had have now gone to new homes.

Hi Everyone.

Matt, there was nice red CRX on the race car section of pistonheads. Ad states it belonged to Dennis but hasn't done anything for years.

CSCC Tin Tops membership is £30. Series Registration is £95. Details are here: http://www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk/Tin%20Tops.html

Entry fees vary between £265 for Anglesey and £295 for Brands (from memory) for 30 min practice and 40 min races.

Think that got sold a little while ago - I had inquired about it as well.

Hi Matt,

I asked the question, they tell me the account is there and set up. The passwd was mailed, but they'll reset and email you.

Could you PM me your email address and I'll check they have the right one? Might be a typo on logon or somesuch?

Cheers

Did the Vento VR6's ever run in Super Coupes? I have trawled through this thread & don't seem to see any mention of them. Were they competitive against the Vectras etc? Where have they gone, there don't seem to be many even in the VW Cup? Are there any for sale or unused somwhere?

He'll know.

Yes, sure I've seen them race at Mallory - about the only circuit where the Super Coupe series and the LMA raced at the same event

One did run in the LMA a couple of years ago, occasionally come up for sale on the various sites (Motorsport Ads, Pistonheads, etc)

Yes, they did race in Super Coupe, however, with the arrival of the VW Cup they naturally headed in that direction & provided the majority of the grid at the beginning of VW Cup. The last Vento to race in Super Coupe was the blue one of Robb Addison in 2003, & he was competitive against the Vectras. But then he was blindingly quick in whatever he got in.

Must be a few in garages somewhere...

Hello all, just reviving this thread...

If anyone has any contact details for Simon Baker, I would very much like to hear from them. I am researching the history of my CRX and Simon owned it before Steve Alderton - but there are gaps in its history and I'd like to fill them in.

All help gratefully received

Also, if anyone knows of any ex-CRX Challenge cars for sale, I would also very much like to know. Thanks all!

It wasn't just Robb Addison Snr who ran one in 2003 it was also Phillip Latchford, Mark Smith and Andy Thompson. Phil Latchford won the class for Vento's in the Super Coupe Cup in 2003.

Just to bring another old thread to life..
A number of Super Coupes will be running this season in Project8 racing saloons.
Including Tomcats / 216GTis / Renault 5turbo and Protons all from the one make series and the Super Coupe Cup.
Anyone with a Porsche 924 championship car or indeed any other eligable tintop thats looking somewhere nice, cheap and friendly to play, will be most welcome!

I was offered one via a contact a few months ago, but not sure where it is. "Just needs re-commissioning......"

Severa lof the cars Stubby mentioned are also running in various CSCC series, inc Honda CRX as well.
