Shimoda already has driven a car with 100bhp more than the A1 car - and I'm not talking about the Zytek 04's either.

Mark Webber has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
it would be very interesting to have the cars dropped completely and start from the begining again to give a true level playing feild so all the last year data meant nothing

But that would just hand the advantage to the same old frontrunners.

If we keep the same formula, more or less, the fied should close up a little, although you'd still have the cream rising to the top, as it were.

Perhaps they should just stop a team from running more than 2 nations?

Kebab, not sure how you would police that. you could stick a few guys from DAMS together (for example) and give them a different name. They are still DAMS but officially a different team

Yeah, would be nice to see scotland! Scotland has some good drivers, I see Colin McRae is starting to go to Circuit Racing, I would love to see him in A1 GP with David Coulthard or Dario Franchitti! And a race at Knockhill would be good, All those cars racing at that short, narrow, bumpy track, that I love!

Scotland are covered under the "Team Great Britain" banner though.

A far better solution, I'm sure we agree.

At the first A1GP press conference of this season the organization looked ahead at the upcoming season and also lifted a tip of the veil about the A1GP car development for the future. David Claire, head of A1GP Operations, said that the A1GP car is probably will have a new chassis and significantly more power, some 700bhp, from season three onwards.

That would make sense, I wondered why the A3 cars (remember them?) weren't just called A2GP. I remember reading on these forums quite a while back that the original plan had been to introduce a new A1GP car after a couple of seasons and downgrade the current cars to A2GP. Would have been a bit silly to throw some inexperienced drivers from the less motorsport-savvy nations into machines as powerful as that, so perhaps the tamer original A1 car would be a better choice. With a few years development behind them, a move into something more potent should be reasonable.

Maybe if A1 is oversubscribed with entries in the coming seasons we might see a promotion-relegation system between A1 with the new cars and A2 with the current ones. Would be less of a problem than for other series since the cars are all owned by the series itself. Not that the world really needs another open-wheel roadracing series, but its an interesting thought nonetheless. Hmm, I wonder if the new car would be oval-friendly....might throw a large spanner into the NA open wheel works..
