[Official] 2012 Fantasy Comp Entry Thread

Apologies for the Late start this year, to compensate entries will be allowed up to the start of FP3 on Saturday the 17th. That's 2pm Local time in Melbourne or 2am in the UK and ROI.
Please make sure you check the times where you are to get your entry in on time.

For the remainder of the season, new entries must be entered prior to the start of FP1 at of that round.

OK on with the show, there are some new things this year and some staying the same...Please read carefully before you enter your team.

Teams

Your Team shall be made up of 2 Drivers, a constructor and and Engine Supplier,from the table included in the attachment.

You may not pick 2 drivers from the same team, nor pick a constructor from which one of the Drivers comes from.

You are allowed to Match your Engine and Constructor to the real world, or choose your own combination.

All 4 components of your teams (2 Drivers, your constructor and Engine Supplier) must not exceed the mandatory budget cap of 100,000

Each team shall be unique, if you submit a combination already selected you'll be asked to pick again.

Race Points

As can been seen on the attached file, the Race Results Points for Drivers and Constructors remain the same as previous years
This Year though there is a Change for Engine Points.

The Engine Points have been equated to the Constructors points scoring system

The top 2 Engines from each supplier but in Different constructors cars will be used for points purposes.

For Example...

Should a race finish

1st, Red Bull/Renault
2nd, Ferrari/Ferrari
3rd McLaren/ Mercedes
4th Mercedes/Mercedes
5th Red Bull/ Renault
6th Lotus/ Renault
7th Ferrari/Ferrari
8th Sauber/ Ferrari

Renault would score a 1st and an 6th
Ferrari would score a 2nd and 8th
Mercedes would score a 3rd and 4th

The aim, is to make the engine points less dependant on which constructor uses them.


Bonus Points

This year in addition to Pole Position points, there will be additional Qualification points for both Drivers, Constructors and Engine Suppliers.

I'm about to state the obvious here, but I need this to clear at this point and later for Penalty Points...

"Q1 Group" relates to drivers who do not progress from Qually 1 on lap times
"Q2 Group" relates to drivers who progress from Qually 1 but whose lap times do not make it into Qually 3
"Q3 Group" relates to drivers whose lap times allow progress from Qually 2 into Qually 3
"Pole" is the fastest driver in Qually 3

The Attached file shows the Bonus structure for
Drivers: Pole, Q3 Group and Q2 Group
Constructors: Pole and Both cars reaching Q3 Group
Engines: Pole and 2 Engines in different constructors(example: A Ferrari Engine in both a Ferrari and a Sauber in Q3)

The Race bonuses

The Drivers bonuses remain the same as last year: Fastest Lap, Lead a Lap, Most Laps lead, and "Gain Loss".
The Constructor Bonuses this year are for Fastest Lap and new for this year, the car that has lead the most laps
The Engine Bonuses mirror that of the Constructor ... fastest lap and the Engine supplier of the car that leads the most laps.

To Clarify for this year the Gain Loss points shall be scored from the Grid Positions at 5 Minutes to Race start (the TV Sting), and the official race results.

Penalty Points

DNQ Not Allowed To race
Driver will be Penalised 75 points
Constructor will be Penalised 10 points

DNQ But Allowed to Race
Driver will be Penalised 50 points

Qualifying Penalities:
Should a Driver enter Qualification with a grid place Drop, or have a grid place drop applied post Qualifying by the race Stewards...

If Driver reaches Q2 and Grid Drops into Q1 group he looses his bonus point (the promoted driver does NOT gain the bonus point).
If Driver Reaches Q3 and Grid Drops into Q2 then only receives 1bonus point, Grid Drop from Q3 to Q1 Group then receives NO Bonus points. (Again promoted drivers do not gain additional bonus points)
If Pole position Grid drops into Q3 group then only receives Q3 bonus points and No Pole bonus awarded to any driver. If more than 10 place penalty then as per Q3 grid drop.
Finally Should a driver Grid Drop but remain within the same Grouping, he retains his Bonus for the Grouping.

This may result in examples of:
No Pole points and 10 drivers receiving Q3 Group Bonus
A Pole, 8 Q3 bonuses and 8 (rather than 7) Q2 Bonus points being awarded

I have no problem with this type of scenario.

DNF
A Technical failure given as the cause of a DNF will result in the Constructor being penalised by 5 points

Engine Failure
New for this year should an Engine supplier have an Engine Failure at any point over the weekend (remember they have only 8 to last the whole season) the Engine Supplier will be Penalised 10 Points.

Replacements/Substitutions

Should A driver be replaced through Injury/ budgetary considerations / any other reason:
The replacement driver will automatically be swapped into your Team.

Should this Driver have driven for another constructor earlier in this season meaning that your Team now breaks the rules:
Don't Worry about it.

Should you not want a replacement Driver or Choose to make a Tactical Driver Substitution then you can:
You are entitled to one Free Driver Change (More will cost 20 points each)
You may not change your constructor or Engine Supplier

Rules
The Rules Have been set by myself, Should anyone find fault with either the rules, the scoring tables once the season begins, or have any other enquiry please make contact by PM in the first instance.

If something happens that I've not accounted for here, I will post as fair a resolution as possible after discussion if necessary for fellow F1 Mods.
