The last Group C/GTP race 2006 at Estoril is cancelled!
(the full event is cancelled!)

Therefore, Group C and also TGP replaced this date with Dijon on the same weekend in October!

I saw yesterday that TGP replaced it by Dijon, didn't realize that Gr C had to do the same, I'm delighted as it's my nearest track

Does anyone know why the Estoril meeting has been cancelled? I understand it was a very popular meeting with competitors.

It was canceled because that weekend of Historic Racing has been canceled as the main sponsor of the event, the local tourist office, backed off.

(then again, last year's event was not so good, with just the group C cars to bring a great show. Blame the guy responsible for the organization, which hasn't got the best of reputation around here...)

We have a lot of GTP cars in HSR . We also run a mixed class that includes the 935's. Aaron Shu is from my area and in 2001 or so we were at Datona the same weekend as the 24 hour race. As memory serves me there was Aaron and I think Hotchkis and a few other guys running faster times than the top quailfires for the Daytona 24 Hour race. We also have a lot of IMSA drivers at HSR .. Even old blue eyes was there racing ..Paul Newman Here are some pics fromthat even..I am driving the black 935 that placed 5th overall at Le Mans in 1982 then came to the US and was an Akin Coke car

3.5L atmo cars for Group C

Now there are '93 spec Porsche 962s in the series, I wonder if they'll let the 3.5L atmo cars race soon?

Wouldn't it be fantastic to see and hear those again?!

I suppose there already is one, in the Gebhardt, though it's not a front runner. Christian Glasel wanted to race a Peugeot 905 a couple of years ago but wasn't allowed and I believe Aaron Hsu has a Jaguar XJR-14.

Good to see some support for the series on here. I've been racing in Group-C from the start of the series and it's a fantastic place to be with some spectacular cars. The cars at the front of the grid are driven VERY hard and the driving standards are the highest I have experienced in any series.

The Silverstone event coming up should be a cracking event, I hope to see some of you guys there.

Good to see the driver of the gorgeous Nissan NPT1 here, why didn't you drive it at Spa, Nick ?

I finished my report on Spa race, here :

I'm actually Chris, my Dad is Nick and he is concentrating on the Spice this year whilst I'm concentrating on the Nissan. Unfortunately I couldn't make Spa as it clashed with the Snetterton round of British GT where I am driving for the Lotus Sport Cadena team. Real shame as the Nissan is really well hooked up now and I Spa is my favourite circuit. Still, it isn't long until Silverstone so there isn't too mch of a wait for my fix of turbo power!

Great pics Benjabulle and was good to see you, albeit briefly. It was a good weekend and nice to get another win under the Nissan's belt although a bit of a shame I couldn't get the double as I did at Ricard. We haven't done a full post mortem on the Nissan engine yet but it looks as it might have been some sort of simple electrical failure causing a spark blowout so fingers crossed the motor is intact. The engine in the car has done phenomenally well actually, having done 30+ hours of running.

At the end of the straight I was pulling 192mph which was staggering considering the inclination of the track. Only performance issue I had all weekend was a complete lack of grip from the waterlogged surface which just didn't want to dry. All the Goodyear runners were suffering from a lack of grip whereas the Dunlop tyres worked far better in those conditions. It made getting the best part of 800bhp on the floor interesting though and the marshals were witness to some pretty lurid powerslides through the back of the circuit! Great track at Dijon... one of the very best.
