Now that the new season is rapidly approaching... what is going to be the best race series of the year???

Probably not BTCC, but what about Lotus Elises or Clios from the TOCA package???

GT's or any other series in the 'Powertour' look pretty good!!

But what's looking good in the 'clubbie' world??

Also, What's going to be the best race day of the year??? Please no-one say the British GP on Easter Sunday.....

Slick 50 Formula ford is going to be the hottest series just like last year. Even though we are going to win it it is going to be hard with drivers such as Anthony Davidson, James Courtney, Gary Turkinton and Robin Rudholm that are all good enough to beat our Mark Taylor.

Fords will definately be the most exciting racing to watch and the most interesting championship.

The National Saloon Car Cup by a long way!
I think this championship rocks,
also, the Castle Combe special GTs will be cool.

Looking forward to Special GT's this year - espcially the first race with two of Bob Light's beasts on the run, should be awesome!!

But what other cars can we expect?? At least one of the Ultimas was up for sale, and now the Radiclas have a comprehensive series - how many of those can we expect??? Also, shame the Imp got destroyed last year - because it won't get replaced!

National Saloons look like being the premier race series of the year, and excellent TV coverage all year.. But try to get to Thruxton in a couple of weeks..

For sheer spectacle I think the FIA Thoroughbred Grand Prix series looks great.

I saw the historic F1 cars on the Brands Indy and they look mega , particularly in their original Williams/Lotus livery. If you get a chance to see them do.

As for contemporary racing I agree that the Slick 50 Formula Ford looks exciting. Although it can be a bit boring at times F3 has a strong line up this year. On a clubbie level if you want to see touring cars of old have alook at the Formula Saloons championship where an ex-Tarquini Alfa 155 may appear along with Mark Blair's Vectra from last year, which will be driven by Simon Dickenson.

I'm marshalling at Brands on the 8/9 April, should be good - TGP's through Dingle Dell!!

These cars round the full circuit, should provide the sight / sound of the year..

Those CSCC races I saw at Combe were well-fought.

Combe FFords.

Combe Saloons.

Legends.

All those are cool.

I do a spaceframe mini They are light weight tubular spaceframe nickel bronze welded on a jig.most are for mini running gear or fabricated equivalent and have grp seven piece body.finished cars are 420KG with 1293 in and are for race use only, although I would consider doing a different chassis for road use.chassis are around £2500 to start.Just on with one to fit a Honda V tec.I stuck my site address in cool sites.

You naughty young fellow. I'll have to pop round to you in the paddock, whop you on the nose with a white glove and prepare to meet at Dawn (pistols or handbags?)

Another Graham in here. Excellent. And there's mention of Minis. Doubly excellent. Can we do the hat trick and inform me of a race-prepared 3000M going very cheap, I wonder...

ONLY 9 DAYS TO GO!!!!

Not to sure if there are any diffrent motors this year but have heard that scot who's pretty quick might be back forgot his name though.
Will make a change to have someone else up front instead of the usal few must get boring for the crowd if the same 2 or 3 people win all the time.

P.S Pistols at dawn hey well I was thinking of TVR parts ??????

Only 8 days now (but only one left 'til I go to Thruxton!!)...

Macskill will hopefully be quick. If the car's up to it, I expect him to be right up there.

Is Julian Howell still running his mini? - because the the CC web page says that Atherton should win class C in his Corsa!! I think not if the mini's about...

Isn't Howell off messing around in single seaters this year?
ARPs or Monoposto I think.
Richard Broadhead will be quick this year.
And Russel Humphries in the FF1600 will be good.

Howell's mini will be a great loss to the series...... it was a great giant killer.

So why will Richard Broadhead's mini be quick, I need some convincing!!! Has he spent some cash???

We seem to have two Combe discussions at the moment.. so I'll put a Combe discussion subject up, is this a good idea??

Any excuse for a couple of Mini pics, eh?

Rick,

Fighting with TVR parts. There's a novel idea. Okay, you can have an indicator stalk from a Vauxhall Cavalier and I'll hit you with my big end (oo-er).

Good luck at Combe!

Well the subject is mini's hey

I will miss jules because he's a dame good driver and a least he will talk to anyone not like so of the other's
REF---- Richard 's mini should be fasts he's sent both his and Anita's engine to M.E.D for complete re-bulids + a few extra more mods.
My little banger has had a oil change and a small ally tank fitted will it be quicker who cares fun is what I will be having.
Guss Singh hopefully has his beast sorted 290bhp + 4 wheel drive.
Brian Allen has fitted new brake calipers to his little wagon that should stop him better just hope I can keep up with him this season

Lookin' forward to it.

So, do you think it would be a good idea for Combe to join in the prospective BMP(?) idea of free entry for club racers? I think I read that Combe had dismissed the idea (for shame).

I'd actually be prepared to pay, say, £3 more if it got the little guys off the hook a bit. Doesn't sound much, but multiplied however many times for all the other spectators, that's some money coming in.
