thanks porsche , i'll be checking those . regarding the fox footy special , i've looked into several of their specials before and they all had a 'minimum spend' buried in the fineprint . i consider these practices deceptive and regard the company as a scumbag as a result . so no fox for me . ever .
the deal posted may be legit and thanks for the info but i have drawn my line .

It's an interesting 'special deal' as can be seen in the following link; https://community.foxtel.com.au/t5/F...fer/m-p/180752

Pay only $10 a week on a 12 month subscription for Foxtel Play (incl. Lifestyle Package and Sports package) and an online news limited subscription. So all up, this package will cost you $530 over 12 months.

Outside of this deal, without any 'special offer' a foxtel play subscription that includes the lifestyle and sports package is $39 per month or $468 over 12 months.

A fairly typical foxtel deal, that doesn't really offer you any tangible benefit.

you forgot to include the news limited deal which is $5 a week or $260 per year $265 by your calculation) thus is only $260 (265) for foxtel.

Its a special deal for news ltd papers, no one is forced to do it.

Cant forget Fox Sports CEO Patrick Delaney who proclaimed "there is no reason any family in Australia can not afford $50 per month on Foxtel"

In NSW on July 1st, every bottle & can (excluding wine) is set to go up between 10c and 20c per unit to fund the Container Deposit Scheme..

The variation in range is the flow on impact identified by the likes of CCA by the retailers & on premise purveyors increasing shelf prices, and attempting to take some margin to offset the cost of compliance.

If you drink 1 bottle of water a day, 365 days a year, and the price increases by the full 20 cents as predicted/anticipated, you have just signed up for a $73/year cost increase in your household spending that was not anticipated.

Nobody is jumping up and down about this too much... yet this is equally an impactor on enjoying our sport at track, or indeed sitting in front of the teev....

Loss of time & energy, and additional cost to return the empties...

And indeed you will get your 10c back, yet not the 20c the price will likely ultimately go up...

Are you seriously comparing drinking water to paying for extra TV channels?

Lol, you take the empties back you get the money back, works here in SA no problems for years and years.

WTF has this to do with motorsport, you get gouged at the track as a spectator, as a competitor it's always expensive, if someone wants to collect the empties that you can't be bothered with and recycle them for money best of luck to them

Thanks for the links.
Getting Foxtel Play direct is cheaper over a year compared to the News Corp deal BUT, I can justify the NewsCorp subs as a business deduction.... The important question, what is the quality like if running say the PS4 app on a 55" tv?

Its about the same as your Standard Definition TV channels.

If your after good quality you have got to get Foxtel HD via Cable or Satellite, but in saying that there has been rumours floating around that Foxtel Go/Play will go HD sometime this year.

For Clipsal, TEN will show the event at 12pm to 5pm on Friday, 11.30am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Do we know who is on the TEN commentary team for Clipsal.

Thanks, Phalkn.
William5, I thought the actual race commentary will be Skaife, Crompton (ala Foxtel crew) but with a different host for pre/post race, being Matt White and the RPM team?

yes, essentially we have 3 commentary teams, one from Fox, one from V8TV and one from Ten.
