superb event, was good last year even without the additional access to extra spectator areas which we enjoyed yesterday, got a lot of nice photos including ones of the cars jumping the lump in the paddock, will post a link once they're online

is number 80 the same brian stevens who races/has raced XJS' and Lotus Cortinas in the past? started 80th finished 22nd! Was also impressed by the e30, and the cars which sprouted the huge extra lights for the last 2 stages

shame the WRC focus retired so early, also would have been nice to have had some staff helping people park in the morning as it was quiet chaotic

i missed the live timing link on the day, doh!

Thanks all for your comments so far, really appreciated. I'm just home so trying to play catch up now! yesnomaybe, I'll pass your car park comments on to the Clerk of the Course so he can speak to MSV when the debrief meeting happens.

Thanks David for the photo of Matt, like the reflection in the water too.

A HUGE thanks from all of the organising team to all who have supported the event in whatever capacity - but especially to the marshals and officials as it was rather chilly!

Once again I really enjoyed marshalling this event so a big "thanks" to my fellow marshals, the organisers and the competitors for a great day.

(Plus ... even though it was a little on the cold side with a small amount of wet stuff, considering it was mid-January the weather was considerably better than many marshalling weekends during 2012 so even the weather gets a "thumbs up" ).

A great event, my two Belgian friends really enjoyed themselves.
The commitment most drivers showed was to be applauded.
A thumbs up to all involved in getting this rally to work.
Nice of MSV as well to allow spectators with their cars on Southbank, saved us from making a long trek through the cold.

Shame I wasn't able to say hello to my fellow (working) marshals as they seemd to be on posts out of reach for us mere spectators.
Thanks to Bertmk2 as well for a job well done.

Can't wait for the next event.
The snow we got once we reached Calais could (maybe) have been fun at Brands.

So - hands up if you just love the sight of an old Ford Escort 'givin it large'

#1 - 1/80, f/3.2, iso 250, 102mm

#2 - 1/80, f/3.2, iso 100, 200mm

#3 - 1/500, f/4, iso 800, 300mm (Cory took this one of me - and no I'm as close as it looks here)

#4 - 1/250, f/2.8, iso 320, 200mm

#5 - 1/250, f/3.2, iso 200, 200mm

#6 - 1/100, f/3.2, iso 100, 300mm

Not that I don't love the others as well it's just. . . . . [drool]

Not sure why the indicators were on in that shot!

It was the first event for the number 42 Mk1 - they finished building it on Friday (nothing like a deadline to get things hurried along!). They did a great job getting to the end of the day (although I think they have got a long job list to work through).

Think you had a little moment coming over the last rise which is when the indicator came on, took a few shots and must have timed it bang on because it was on in everyone (reminds me of an old joke - yes it's working - now it's not - yes - no - yes - no)

#42 looked really good and I would not have guessed at a last minute dash to get her ready in time "bravo"

We were having trouble getting the front to turn in on the 'rally stage' part so Martin was giving the throttle an extra blip to get the back round (it's an Escort - steer from the rear ), I guess he just knocked the indicator. At least we hadn't been driving the whole stage with it on

Yet again a fantastic event, my third rally stages at Brands and just as exiting as the previous two (although much colder) Well done to Chelmsford MC all involved. Already looking forward to the summer stages.

Sorting through my pictures and so far the cars below were my Favourites
from the day, the Renault 5turbo

Cheers
