They've done a great job to get the car ready for this early date.

Your point being that Jelley won't be back because his number is in use by Jackson?

"Mat Jackson completes team Shredded Wheat Racing with Gallagher line-up."

http://www.btcc.net/2018/01/11/mat-j...agher-line-up/

We knew it from this morning, but some members had eyesight and reading issues, so official link.

Two cars. Chilton and Jackson. New build cars. The look many fans have been asking of Motorbase for quite some time. Done.

Not a surprise but good news to see Jackson back.

Hope we haven't seen the last of Davenport though. As for Butcher I can see him in the Norlin Civic...?

Have there been any major surprises announced today?

Alot of the stuff announced so far has hardly been what I would describe as a 'surprise'.

Jackson back at Motorbase, the team he has been with since year dot, albeit a car with a couple of different letters on the back.

Chilton, Sutton and Austin we already knew, so nothing new there.

Maybe there is more to come this afternoon but it has mostly been announced by this time on media day at ASI.

I suppose the only major surprise will be which poor sods find themselves peddling the MG's. AmD will do a stunning job with those cars but lets face it, the chassis are damaged and old with a very limited lifespan.

Who promised surprises, apart from yourself to yourself?

Hope he has the budget for a full season. I would think it's not a cheap seat on the grid for someone who has said he'd been pushed for budget in the past.

I thought about it a few times but never mentioned it...! Glad to see him back, hopefully he can put the end of his 2017 season behind him. I remember he was very good in the Cruze. Still think he'll be alongside Tordoff with Proctor in a Subaru.

I'm pleased to see Josh back at PMR, he had some good showings in their Cruze a couple of years ago.
Hopefully he won't be so desperate this year, he was involved in a lot of un necessary contact last year which was not so impressive.

They are working to keep Senna Proctor in the 2nd car! Not only for continuity but they want 2 young gun, hard chargers in Mr Weavers words 😉

Looks like Euro Repar is a fairly big backer, good to build up those PSA links.

Good luck to Josh. This time last year I dare say we'd all have rated him equally as highly, however his time with MG in 2017 was extremely poor. There's a good driver in him though, and with a fresh, quick car and an ambitious team I'd expect to see him go well.

Grid shaping up nicely. Great to see a lot of the front runners confirmed again over the last few days.

Great to see so many names locked in for the upcoming season. It now looks like a strong grid for 2018.
Aa for Motorbase it's a bit of shame that they are scaling back to two cars however now with these two drivers they have stronger lineup than in 2017.
Tordoff's name is constantly coming back, I wonder if he really returns to the series. If yes, the question would be where. The same question would be about James Nash.

Tweet from Yuasa seems to - unsurprisingly - comfirm Shedden and Neal again at Honda

" Heading to @Autosport_Show this weekend? Don’t miss Halfords Yuasa Racing drivers @MattNealRacing and @gordonshedden talking about the 2018 #BTCC season #ASI18 "

On the Wikipedia page, it shows the MGs against AMD (as rumoured) with a link to an article on “thecheckeredflag.co.uk” entitled AMD add MGs to expanded 2018 line up. However, clicking the link takes you to a Page Not Found situation.

Someone fuelling the rumours and misbehaving, or a possible pre-embargo leak?

I take it this is the absolutely end of Triple Eight then (not that there was much left anyway)?

That's a bit of a shame, even if they had became a shadow of them team they were in the 00s.

If only the funds to develop a proper engine and develop the car was there, they could have retained Plato and had more wins and possibly a drivers title.

It says Amd are doing developments, I wonder if that means a facelift at last with the slightly more aerodynamic bumpers that Ian Harrison said they would liked to have done a few seasons ago.
