"Embassy aiming to win the championship in 2008 - suprises & shocks expected! - Motorsport News (print)"
Thats not a Lola or Radical or Pilbeam with Audi, 908 or Porsche engine, that a RS Spyder. Its even not a R10, because they would have to fight against the works team ... |

Why would they have to fight with the R10 against the factory? Who says that the Audi factory is comming to LMS next year?? |

I thought the plan was that Audi said that they intend to do the LMS next year , if so , that would probabbly mean Jöst or Oreca imho .
But , im sticking with my guess of an RS Spyder for Embassy . |

At www.pitstop.tv they write: "Embassy Racing will most likely enter their own prototype in LMS next season".

Another Lego Brick ?
How can you build an own car and say "we will drive about the championship" at the same moment? |

But I agree with you, the Porsche Spyder is the most logical choice. |

With Alistair Mac aboard they could design their own given a German engine and Hewland box, a 20,000sq ft factory is much more than you need for a Porsche, Warren on a 3 year deal, are we letting our imagination run away with us perhaps? A state of the art LMP1 from Ossett, does JF know LNT, Yorkshire mafia strike again? Perhaps it will look like a Toyota sportscar from about ten years ago, updated of course
Lots of fun here Last edited by old man; 22 Aug 2007 at 09:58. |

Alistair Mac designed the Toyota sportscar that never raced, a programme in the 90's that became the Toyota GTone when they had to find something for the German rally boys to do after they were disqualified from the WRC, see posts in "sportscars that never raced" here somewhere |

Love the fun of speculation though !!! I doubt Porsche would release their RS Spyder engine , but , could they use the 997 engine in an LMP2 ? |

R10 maybe not ... what if they got their hands on an R8 - if it's still legal.

Are you sure its a proto?
A step back to GT2 and running the works spyker team would also be possible. |

What is ment by going for the championship is a bit unclear . Going for overall ? Going for LMP2 ? But its still a bold comment . Maybe they got their mits on an FSI engine , doubt it . Maybe an R10 ,doubt it too . Its got german engineering ..... Audi , Porsche , VW ? France is seemingly laughing at people suggesting he has an RS Spyder .... I really am at a loss !!! |

But, I think it's fair to say that, whilst your team was extremely high profile within BGT, the majority of fans outside of the British Isles know very little about Embassy Racing. An 'interesting' initial choice of car on the back of some bold statements, and a faltering start to your first season at this level hasn't helped in this respect. It is difficult, therefore, to gauge what is, and what isn't, likely to be a big announcement. That said, I feel very confident that on this occasion, there will be considerable substance to your upcoming 'big announcement'. The anticipation and speculation over the next few weeks will be fun. I suspect that by the end of 2008 Embassy Racing will be enjoying the same (fan's favourite) status as Creation, Rollcentre etc. Good luck with the remainder of 2007, and for 2008 and beyond. First LMS podium at Silverstone in just over three weeks? I reckon......... |

Here at Embassy we're all really pleased to be part of the LMS, and fully realise that we have to earn our spurrs- hence our decision to neither apply for a Le Mans entry this year, nor race the Radical there, which we could've done under the Rollcentre banner given that the car had an entry. We just knew that we wouldn't be able to do ourselves justice, and could only harm our credibility.
Talking of the "interesting" first choice of car, there's so much that I'd like to say publicly to answer all the questions and put things in perspective, but can't, at the moment, and we've been on the back foot ever since the Pilbeam was delivered 2 months late As you say, roll on Silverstone! Oh yes, and just to set the record straight on an earlier posting; Embassy have never leased a racing car. We still own outright the '04 Corvette, the Pilbeam MP93, and the Radical SR9. I hope that this clears up any confusion. |
