naca should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Was there over the weekend, about a quarter to a fifth still call it Indy. Wonder when the v8 rebranding of the event will finally get through to people.

Probably never.

People still yearn for the glory days - nothing wrong with that.

Indy was special and unique on the calendar - now the event is not too different than Ipswitch

More vendors, volunteers, cleaners, security, support categories and v8sc staff to count as part of the official crowd?

Surely even you Pecky aren't going to suggest the event has the same buzz since it lost an open wheel headliner?

Who cares? I bet its cheaper to run too.

Indycar are no longer what they once were and they are not coming back.

V8Supercar and Formula E double header could get interesting?

Anyway 3 times the crowd at the Gold Coast, because Ipswich is a hole.

Any billy karts would be cheaper again? I don't see your point.

Indycar with Power, Briscoe and Dixon would be quite something so let's not lose hope

No, Im not going to suggets it has the same buzz, a v8 buzz is way different to a v8 turbo buzz.

However you have failed to explain why the crowd is three times as big, Clearly there is something different between GC and ipswich

There must be still something special about it

4th street race we have been to this year where the crowd is up on the previous year

Great to see little Perkins on the top step and the emotion that comes with it.
Amazing what a SC can do for a race when it appears at an awkward time.
Can we please not have co-drivers involved in determining Championships.

Stationary pit crew having their backs to the action whilst tyres are being spat at them is potentially very dangerous.

Was there this weekend. Don't think I'll be back next. Either QR or Bathurst. IMO, the Gold Coast has lost it's charm. (Although the pit walks were good. Nice to catch up with some mates)

Formula E would go pretty well at the Gold Coast, although they'd have either get rid of two support categories, or have it on a the weekend before or after the v8 race. Also the FE's would probably want their own pits rather than having to share the pitlane with the V8 teams during the races. The FE cars aren't that fast, with the F4's probably able to do a faster lap time.

I must say as I was at Bathurst and didn't see his work but I got to see it this weekend on Fox, I LOVED the Dude and his light hearted pit interviews telling people how it is and to "have a go" etc etc, much more worth watching than girl they have doing it.

Best Commentary of the year to date. (Paul Morris) WAYYYYYYYYYYYY Better than Berretta

Put cars that are nowhere in the race up the front where they don't deserve to be?

I liked his interview with Mr Ambrose, basically confirmed the news we are waiting to hear about his future.

Does anyone know why Moffat was pinged for shortcutting the chicane as another car was exiting the pits while numerous other cars appeared to do exactly the same thing and nothing was done ????

It was because he gained an advantage, the other cars must have held their ground instead of flying through at top speed.

Cars were cutting that chicane so much in general, it makes you wonder why they bother still having it in that configuration?

Perhaps the pit exit needs to go back to how it was originally for the CART cars, or fill the chicanes with grass or gravel like they were in the 90s?

You mean from the same organisation that has introduced cumulative TV numbers - counting multiple replays + magazine shows?
