I thought the car belonged to JRM? JRM bought the whole rallycross package from Prodrive (end of 2014?) and they ran the car as 1.6L, then they converted it to 2.0L?

I seem to recall that JRM had (or talked about) two cars, did Liam buy one of those two a while ago?

They do seem to have had their share of drama, but the LDM DS3's do seem pretty rapid when they are working properly.

Forgive the double post but, according to a comment from Liam on Facebook, it seems as though LDM have purchased everything from JRM.

JRM's original plan was to make a comeback next year from different news sources. They had been testing a little bit with Hirvonen as well.

Yeah, if I recall correctly they had Hirovnen in the MINI at the launch of the Silverstone track earlier in the year.

Perhaps they are looking at a different car? Or maybe they have just abandoned the idea of rallycross?

I guess they abandoned rallycross. They are developing a GT3 Nissan I think, at least some sort of GT car, and it seems to be quite a serious project.

However, EKS's Audis have been sold I heard but don't know to whom, so that could be a possibility.

Quite how they can afford it all I don't know.

Liam has done nothing, yet somehow, God only knows how is still sponsored by Monster. I find that insulting, bizarre and mildly dodgy. Rumours are he was off his face at Gatebil when he went rogue last year, yet somehow retains the green diabetes provider.

His cars have always fallen to pieces for customers, or most of them have, he has a reputation for being nasty, aggressive, dirty on track.

I literally have no idea whatsoever why sponsors, fans, or anyone would ever consider following him, wanting to be involved in a team with him or wanting him to run a car.

If they do they have literally no idea of who he is, what he is, what his track record is.

In a few ways you have to admire the man, he is one of those people that somehow floats back to the surface again. But he shouldn't. He should be long gone.

I just don't know why. Have seen him ruin race meetings, dump oil, lose parts of the car routinely, have stupid accidents, remember the GTR in Germany?

I run out of things I really do. It's beyond me.

All I can say is do what I did, email Monster and tell them you will never buy their products again while they are involved with this idiot.

If Doran has a contract with Monster, Monster could be paying a lot of money if they break the contract.
And they told it was a multi year deal...

I don't remember the exact figure but I believe it was 4-8 million SEK. I'm not entirely sure but it was quite expensive compared to what a regular supercar might cost.

Don´t know if that´s a reliable source, but obviously they assume that Bakkerud will compete with DA Racing in World RX...

They probably referred to the team he is actually going to drive for and not DA.

Shouldn't the last 3 posts be in the 2018 Rallycross rather than the 2018 Rally thread?

I must say that I have never really warmed to Heikkinen. If EKS do return for 2018 I assume it will be a team effort again, so I wonder who the second driver might be?

Not sure if everyone has already seen this, so I thought I'd post it up:

https://www.motorsport.com/world-rx/...g-role-989312/

Kenneth Hansen confirmed to remain part of the new Peugeot effort for 2018. There is mention that the return of Timmy and/or Kevin might be a possibility in the article and, possibly just my imagination, but a sense (from the wording of the closing paragraphs) that Peugeot are really committing to rallycross.

So if EKS have sold their cars and seems like they are building new versions then are we going to see up to 4 new cars in WRX for 2018?

I would doubt any private guys are interested or rich enough to do WRX, it is discouraged anyway unless you line their pockets with silver.

As for Bird, maybe rallying for him is dead or he was made unwelcome, has a poor track record with the law, perfect in rallycross really!!
