It looks like the NW FF1600 Serious Thread is being hijacked by the SOM.

John, you would be very welcome at Oulton on one of your forays, if your recent trackday there hasn't scared you off venturing onto a proper circuit that is!

Well, if the calendar is the same as usual, we'll see you in August!

No Diz, not at all - long circuit meeting is normally in August isn't it. Just trying to be helpful if John is starting to look at a programme.

Me - grumpy/cynical?? Who've you been speaking to????

I think the calendar is more or less done, but we are being kept in suspense.
Pity we only seem to get one round on the proper circuit every year. WHY?????????

Probably realistic would have been a better word.

seeing as this is suppossed to be a serious thread and the BRSCC are always saying they need to make money out of a meeting .
Historicaly every time we have a meeting on the long (proper)circuit all sorts of cars seem to apear from the woodwork and tend to get nearing full grids for both races .
When i started in the champion of Oulton in 1993 we had about 8 races on the proper track and 3 on the poxy little one, i always seem to remmeber good grids then .
Can't they (BRSCC) work out it will be better for them , the competitor and the spectators if more races were on the right track

Rant over

i'll get my coat

If it is a DT one, don't wear it in the pit lane.

Some is serious, but I was misguided in thinking the welcome silliness wouldn't sneak in.

I wouldn't know, I haven't had one since those halcyon days in 93 and even then it got me in bother because of its redness.

If the monoposto's go to Spa, how many of the NWff1600 boys and SoM Men will join in. FF1600 standard spec is a category in Mono1600. It is an excellent three days and Spa is easy to get to. I understand there may be a truck going this year with about 6 car spaces available.

Interested?

I went to Spa this year with the monoposto boys. An utterly amazing few days, funny, myself/Robin Parsons and Lysander parsons where the only FF1600 runners there (apart from the monotposto 1600's) no other championship had any other cars there ????

It has been suggested as a 'this race is boring' flag - not that NW FF would ever need such a flag.......

Now, about this brown flag........

I am sure kids can be very creative with coal these days Dave!!!

I suggested that I got the wife a set of ACB10's this Christmas but I was not too popular after that suggestion!!

it would be nice to race at Spa. I have a speed boat called Eau Rouge but I have never been!! Did any of the FF1600 champs ever have away races in Europe? Would have been a good idea to get all the FF1600 Championships to have a joint race at Spa or Pau!!

My Uncle Rob won the Classic F3 race at Pau this year and he said it was awesome. Do FF1600 race at the same meeting??? Could be a fun race (would need to take a lot of spare parts!!).
