Proton's at Malaysian GP

Someone mentioned that they spotted 3 BTCC Proton Impians at Sepang on the TV coverage last week, well in this weeks Autosport there's a picture of the Schumachers with their shiny Ferrari's and BMW's, and in the background you can see the nose of at least 2 Impians.

Anyone know why they were there? I know it's obviously something to do with the Malaysian connection.

There were a few Protons knocking around, particularly on the motorways! Proton are Malaysian and the country uses the event to gain itself valuable exposure. From what I saw, they just lookd like jazzed-up road cars with the Touring kit and wing on them ...

There was one parked on the inside of turn3 too.

The BTCC machines have been known to be 'blooded in' at Sepang, by young Malaysains. The cars from last years series are intended for promotional, and driver development activities, if this means Malaysain Grads, then I assume the cars to be at Sepang.
