Any chance of Moff' taking it for a burn sometime?

PhaseIII should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Fair go yourself drbob!

You obviously failed to read my first sentence and my further qualification!

MtP. made the bold statement:

"the LHD or RHD is going to make no performance difference"

I just raised the question of whether "TECHNICALLY" the positioning of the driver on the 'inside' of the majority of corners would, in fact, enhance the cornering 'performance'

Sheesh!!

I for one, and most others probably just want to see it back out on the track, the LHD or RHD is going to make no performance difference so let it go.

The car has been in Australia for years if your telling me that RHD Sierra parts are hard to get

If the 9in diff isn't a performace advantage why is it used? reliability I hear you say, well isn't that an advantage also?

You’re making a mountain out of a mole hill, the car has a permit to run and Drbob has stated it will be returned to the correct spec.
Let the guy run it and the spectators enjoy.

ANZ Sierra

Hi mtpanorama,
I'll be on the track with you and as a fellow Group A driver, am pleased to have another car on the grid and a Moffat car to boot. I will drop by and say hello, just look for the Mustang in your mirrors...

Good luck for the weekend, make sure you enjoy yourself and be safe.

Regards
Big Rev Nev.

P.S. I look forward to seeing you and the car on a regular basis, Sandown in November remember....

Thanks guys. Let's get on with another topic.

GTRMagic, I would love Moff to have a run in the #10 ANZ Eggenberger Sierra even if it is only in the display laps. It should be ready for Muscle Car Masters but I am not sure whether he would be interested in running it in the Group A races.

Wouldn't be the first time CAMS has let a LHD car compete when its not in accordance with the rules...there's an BMW E36 running in Improved Production in Queensland thats built on a LHD BMW Motorsport chassis. IP rules state that the vehicle must have been locally delivered for road use to be eligible...since when were LHD BMW Motorsport shells used on Oz roads.

BMW homologated the M3 in 2 & 4 door in LHD and RHD so it is definately legal for IP racing.

Hi all.

Could anyone be able to steer me in the right direction on some contact details for the Person that now owns the 1991 bathurst Nissan GTR that was sold to Asia please.

Ive done a few searches through these forums and come up blank. Yet I know I have seen images of the car returning here.

If so it might make for some rather spectacular (and expensive starts)

If the car is presented in 1987 livery and has a C of D relating to that year it must run the same mechanical specs, so if a 7 and a half inch diff was used in 1987, it must use the same diff now. Heck, they used a 2.5 litre motor in M3s in 1991 and I've got one on the shelf, but I still use the correct 2.3 litre version even though the extra power would be great under foot.

What was the origins and what happened to the Marathon Foods VL Commodore's from 1992/93

Presumebly the black one from 1992 was written off on Conrod in an accident in the 1000 with the second Caltex Sierra, and the white one from 93 was another vehicle?

Don't the IP rules state that sporting evolutions and such are NOT eligible. And don't the regulations state that the vehicle must have been available to the general public through the normal dealer network. A LHD BMW Motorsport shell that was orignally a super tourer does not meet either of these criteria.......

Isn't Justin Wade's BMW Super Tourer #1 a left hooker? IIRC, the only real problem he had with it was with the inner guards...

IPRA Rules evolve regularly, any car that carries group A Homologation can comptet, and there are plenty of them.

Therefore if the car is homolodgated in LHD and RHD then either is allowed.

Additionally, if the car was available here for generall road use and measures up to be a "Touring Car" then it's in as well.

** Similarly, Sierras were LHD and RHD, as were M3s and PLENTY of others. Whats the problem with any car running either?

Hope to see lots of them at PI this weekend, and Sorry Dave, I'd prefer it to be dry .

Qualifying
http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/re.../2009.PHIL.Q21

The gap has closed a bit, but still 4 seconds.
Chris seems to be getting used to the ANZ sierra, moving up the time sheet.
