main game drivers in Fujitsu series?
with the series struggling through a bad year with low numbers could the series benifit from letting a certain ammount of main game driver's (say 5) compete in the FV8's like in Nationwide series. i know in Nationwide series the Cup drivers always take the win so in FV8's maybe make the main game guys carry ballast or something.
would this help or hurt the series or make no difference at all? |

perhaps those 20th or lower in the championship are allowed to enter?
how about as a condition of holding a REC, all 2 car teams must enter a single car in the FV8 series, and they can put whoever they want into it? great for hand-me-down chassis and training crew & drivers within the team? |

Cup racers in NASCAR run Nationwide for financial reasons (prizemoney share, winners purse usually US$40K+ with good money split through the field). Fujitsu DVS carries token prizemoney which in no way matches the outlay to prepare and compete. With most DVS rides driver funded (by whatever means), their is no financial case to place a VSC driver into the ride.
With respect to VSC teams "having" to field a DVS entry...you'd be surprised how many VSC teams barely have the finances to run their main car/s, and rely on REC income to stay afloat. I'm sure that any bottom 50% team would place available resources into improving their VSC package rather than diverting effort into a DVS effort. |

Improving the Fujitsu TV package (live or same day coverage of full races) could make it worthwhile to sponsors however.
Maybe the rules could make the cars a little cheaper to buy and run then their main game spec counterparts also? It would solve a lot of problems... Is Moffat any good winning races but being 1.5 sec off Whincup's pace in the top notch BF? Well if Brighty was out there in the Fujitsu car, Courtney in a DJR CrimSafe car and Morris in a BWS-backed VE then we would have a reasonable reference... |

Would this additional racing affect a driver's conditioning, or would it be similar or preferable to their current training programmes?

If Ambrose can drive over 650km solo over two days at Watkins Glen, I'm sure most V8 Supercar drivers could lift their game and run a couple of sprint races.
