Clubsport - the ultimate racing game.

Basically a career game that's based on British Club racing, - all the tracks (inc sprint / hillclimb / test) and all the major series with BritCar & EuroBoss (or F3?) at the top. Kind of a clubmans Gran Tourismo - you can earn cars etc.

Get a choice to start out in Fvee, FF16, Stock Hatch or similar. Probably need about 500 cars in it - but thats do-able.

Special cars could be won like the Birley Escort, Baby Bertha etc.

Then a Rally version doing the same - special cars to include a full spec works WRC, Burton Pug, Hartfield Pug, some Group B stuff.

with all the stages from single venues to Rally GB

I'd love a sprint/hill climb version of Gran Tourismo with all the European and World sprints and hill climbs from the British Hill climb Championship venues thru to places like Pikes Peak and every car possible from Mini's thru to hill climb specialist single seaters with the capacity to do your own liveries.

Similar to ss_collins really, club racing!

Plenty interesting cars to drive, instead of doing like a single seat career where you're fairly limited in the types of cars you can drive.

Yep, pretty much, other than the liveries as I usually pick an inside view. I like the idea of progressing by earning prize money and sponsorship according to performance, and spending it on accident damage and new cars or bits for them.

And something just like GTR but with a race engineer add-on. I like the driving, but the set-ups... I just want to press a button that says 'fix understeer' and it does it, or at least gives me some sensible choices. I really can't get enthusiastic about doing 20 laps to see if 1 deg of camber adjustment made any difference!

The other possibility is something with a huge range of circuits and just a few types of car. I'd be quite happy to pick a sportscar and race it in invitation events everywhere. I find TOCA race driver frustrating because I really want to take DTM to Bathurst and V8s to Donington and it won't let me. Or at least, I can't find out how.

Anthing (preferebly PS2 but I could stop dragging my heels and update the PC) that allowed REAL 24HOUR RACING. period. (with full weather, day/night, different classes, lots of tracks and competitors and online)

Gran Turismo 5 (i know i can't, but this is what i would change) just add some race cars, damage, some more real tracks. and Race car mods like in GT2. and more tuning options, like remapping turbo and fuel input and tire pressure's

Yep similar to above - a career progression based game, bit like the football management ones you get but starting at club level and working up

I like the career progression idea too. For me it would be the thought of beginning with something like British GT or Belcar or another national championship, starting with GT3 machinery and progressing upwards, going through national and into international racing like FIA GT, ALMS, LMS and going upwards through the GT's and into the prototypes - all this whilst aiming to compete, and win, at Le Mans - also like the idea of raising budgets and attracting sponsors for your drive, to earn your progress.

This would have a hell of a lot of cars, however, and an awful lot of work to create it!

CR: ClubRacing - The Official game of British Club Racing

In this you buy cars, some great some bad, you set up a team, you find sponsors, you get money, you make liveries, you build up through the ranks through series like Formula Renault, Formula Ford, Mini Racing, Historics, Rallycross and others as you blast round tracks like Spa Francochamps, Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Lydenn, Knockhill, East Fortune, Mondello Park, Thruxton, Anglessy, Nutts Corner, Croft, Sneterton, Castle Combe and Donnington Park.

An up to date version of Need for Speed: Porsche unleashed but with many brands instead of just Porsche, buy a beaten down old Jaguar, fix it up and sell it for a profit, wash rinse and repeat until you have enough money then buy a new Jaguar/Ford/Peugeot/Citroën/whatever and tune it up for racing and off you go.
With visible racing mods for all cars that you can buy as well like in GT1/2!!

an lemans sim that starts with the first group c cars through todays cars. all series that have run under le mans similiar rules (alms, lmes/lms, etc) that includes the ability to have you own custom season and mix classes (im thinking lmp900/lmgtp with the 3.5l cars ) with all of the elements that each season/class rules have. then, just for the group c cars, the ability to race without the fuel use limit.

Definitely an ALMS/LMES based sim with Le Mans included. Cars from 1999 through to today. Championship seasons or spot races. Multiple classes at a time. Full grids. "Intelligent" AI. Car tuning and setup. Le Mans, Nurburgring, Monza, Spa, Silverstone, Sebring, Road Atlanta, Laguna Seca, Road America and Mosport.

Or

Group C based sim covering the full period of 1983 to 1992. Championship seasons based on the year, combined, or spot races. And of course Le Mans. Full grids. "Intelligent" AI. Car tuning and setup. Spa, Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Magny Cours, Monza, Nurburgring, Kyalami, Suzuka, Fuji and Le Mans.

Either would do nicely. But both would be better.

A huge game that includes ever F1 car to have finished in the top 3 in the championchip, loads of group C cars & historic racers+most of the classic tracks as well as most of the new ones (probably about 250 tracks in total!). On top of this it would have a career mode allowing you to go right from karting to F1 through FBMW, British F3, F3 Euroseries, Renault World Series, Atlantics, GP2, CCWS & IRL, with the same kind of progressions through sportscars (National saloon racing, BTCC, DTM, Aussie V8s, Grand-Am, WTCC, FIA GT & LMS etc). There would also be an arcade mode allowing you to race on any track in any car. All cars would have realistic sounds, handling & damage etc + you could mod you own cars & produce their own colour schemes (Modern F1 with ground effect, 1400bhp turbo & Brabham 'fan car' style fan!). Also a facility to enable you to design your own car using parts of all the other cars in the game (6 wheels, huge slick tyres....almost anything you want really!!). I could go on for ever but a game like this would never be produced. Shame!

GTR, but with Prototypes. However, I may never leave my flat again.

I've always thought there is huge potential for a very playable and addictive game based on Rally cross. If it had the drivability, sensation of speed and satifying feel of the original Colin Mcrae Rally, but in a Rally cross environment. Esp if it had a good Multiplayer engine.

Agreed with above poster about rallycross, how this has never made it onto a game platform i dont know as it has sliding and great cars and very quick races, plus it would be bruilliant online game because of the quick race format.
The tracks are very short so would fairly easy to draw if you based it on the European championship.

But I guess the days to have done it would have been the late eighties when rallycross was at its peak. THe only real way you could do it now would be to maybe use the super special stages in a rally game and use skins from anotehr game, i dont think you would get a complete sim based on such a minority sport, shame though coz driving Alamakis 205 or Gollops BiTurbo would be cool, even cooler to try and tame Skogstads 600bhp RS500!!

I agree with someone else about prototypes in GTR, the GT cars are good but you yearn for something quicker and barely manageable!!

Also think there is room for a F1 Turbo game aswell, would be great fun!!

I have also played a version of Nascar Heat that uses skins to mimick uk stock car racing with full contact, it is a huge online game now, just goes to show that if you ahev enough people paying a sub you can have a gme with what you want in it

My dream sim would recreate the kind of racing that made me fall in love with racing: short track U.S. dirt in the late 1950s-early 1960s.

Dirt Track Racing (and all its sequels) got close. But what I wanted to see were the prewar American cars getting beaten up every Saturday night: the kind of cars that owner/drivers raced as a hobby.

I'd especially like to see a simulation of the water truck that slowly circled the track, keeping the dust down and helping the track fuse into something tighter than just dirt and gravel. Be nice to see the difference in the track surface before and after the water simulated as well.

Be great to watch, say, a 1940 Ford make the progression from stock to modified to super modified.

Ah, well. It will probably never happen and that's what makes it a dream.

I would like a GPL style game, but prewar. I'd love to have a crack at driving Auto Unions and stuff like that and maybe the '50s front engine F1 cars as well.

Like a number of earlier replies, I would like a game based on Club Racing, featuring all of the British categories, plus a couple of foreign ones as well. Also, it would need to have authentic cars, liveries and drivers as well as a Gran Turismo element that allows you to buy and sell cars.
