Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend, very good grids of cars, some good racing and a fair amount of incidents to deal with. All the drivers I spoke to all really enjoyed the weekend.
Sorry to hear of the incident Mark had at Abbey (see thread Marshal Retires), this is not normal at HSCC meetings and most drivers and team personnel are very appreciative of marshals and will take time to talk to marshals and show them around cars. Should anyone have problems whilst marshaling at HSCC meetings please contact Fay and she will ensure the HSCC are aware of the problems. |

Below is an extract from the HSCC website:-
Silverstone International Trophy Race Meeting May 15th - 16th What a fantastic weekend! The HSCC ran 13 races over 2 days on the Silverstone Historic Grand Prix Circuit, three events being mini enduros ranging from 50 - 60 minutes. There was a capacity entry for nearly every race and luckily all of the reserves did finally get to race. The experiment of using rolling starts for every race, proved to be highly successful and was accredited by senior officials as being the reason we were able to run so many races to full duration. Highlight of the weekend came for the podium finishes in the Historic Touring Car Race who received their awards from former 60s Touring Car Champion Roy Pierpoint. The club would like to extend its thanks to all the hard working marshals and officials for their excellent support; to our members for making it a record breaking meeting for the club; lastly special thanks to Silverstone Circuits for their help during the builid up to the event and their support throughout the weekend. |
