IIRC Pagenaud drives a road car based Honda so he's not a potential winner.

Tajima's car only has like 650HP or so, and I'm not sure how light it is, so I doubt he'll place in the top 3 this year, providing the rest of the front-runners stay reliable/don't crash.

Is this usually streamed somewhere ? I've always seen lots of videos on the tube and all but this year I was thinking of watcing it live if possible.
Maybe the usual v i p b o x , f i r s t r o w ?

Yeah this year there's going to be a bigger streaming presence online, courtesy of Red Bull and Peugeot's effort in the event this year. Red Bull will be bringing a bunch of cameras and streaming the event online.

Have to say that, although the event has lost some of its appeal going all tarmac, it certainly seems to have gained in terms of exposure. Really looking forward to being able to actually watch the event this year as well.

I agree with regards to Foust, but not Pastrana. I do think Pastrana is a talent, but his approach to four-wheel motorsports seems so scattershot that he never has a chance to really excel at anything.

I've mentioned it in the rallycross portion of the forum, but I personally think Deegan has some talent. He has done very well on bikes and in short-course truck racing, plus he has been consistently quick in the GRC.

As for this year, if any of the front running Unlimited cars make it to the top, then I'm sure last years records will be smashed. To go to Pikes Peak and be competitive on the first year is a huge ask for any driver, but if anyone can do it, its going to be Loeb...

I'm predicting close to, or possibly under, 9 minutes this year. If Rhys and Romain can do a 9:46 in time attack machines, with little downforce and only 2 wheel drive, and nowhere near the HP of the top machines this year, I think close to 9 minutes flat is for sure a possibility this year.

Not the DW12, apparently, Simon was nicley told to go away when he wanted to enter the Indy Car.

I dont know where I really stand on the tarmac issue, but one thing that is interesting is because it's all paved, we're seeing what are essentially road prototypes. Nothing stopping a Super GT team or someone like Audi turning up with unrestricted cars!
