Yoong Montoya should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
When was the last time a team ran drivers of the same nationality?

The last time I think was when Forti ran Luca Badoer and Andarea Montermini in 1996, and they were both Italian. However, if Hakkinen does return next year, we could see an all Finnish lineup of Hakkinen and Raikkonen at McLaren.

Jaguar had Irvine and Herbert in 2000, Both Brits in a British marque.

Can't think of anything more recent though!

Good call, paul, only Irvine's nationality is Irish iirc.

Yoong Montoya's pick seems a pretty valid answer to his own question. The year before, in 1995, Hill and DC drove at Williams. That is the only one I could think of, but Forti was indeed all-Italian a year later.

Can't see it happening, myself

Another recent recent example - Mark Blundell and Martin Brundle, Mclaren 1994, Both British, British team also.

Heh, oops, I guess it pays to read the question! Somehow my brain was saying "When was the last time a team ran driver(s) of the same nationality as the team"

I take back my initial post

Back in the late seventies when it seemed everyone in F1 was French, Renault, Ferrari, Ligier all had two french drivers.

The last time two Americans drove for the sam Team, Ronnie Bucknam and Ritchie Ginther, 1965 Honda.

An interesting point. Does a person from Ulster consider himself English, Irish, or British, from a Nationality viewpoint? What passport would he hold? I know Irvine was very glad to play down the National Anthem thing when he won - they played God Save the Queen and he said he was fine with that.

As far as Irvine's concerned, he should officially have the Union Jack and the British national anthem, but a great many people in Northern Ireland consider themselves as Irish rather than British (historical and political reasons).

I remember that when Irv cvame 2nd in Argentina 1997 the flag above him on the podium was the Irish one, which produced death threats for his parents from Ulster Unionist hardliners, and Irv suggested racing with a neutral flag with British and Irish elements, but the FIA rejected this.
