rcarr has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Scotsport had a single report of 1 race in about 1984 when David Leslie ran the Ecurie Ecosse C2 car against all the clubmans cars. That is my only recollection of tv coverage there. Before that, Im too young to know about that!

Keith Robertson, Thistle Mini's I think is what he used to enter as, went off to do TV Rallycross after circuit racing.

how did you find it travelling all that way up there to compete? did the start money make it all worth while?

must have taken ages travelling, my old man used to travel down from Edinburgh to do all the rallycross events at Lyden hill, these were the days before M6 etc must have taken him for ever towing up and down the country!

M Coupe should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Used to go to Ingilston every few months with my uncle who was motorsport mad. Last time I was there was to watch the RAC Rally in 1986 (last year of Group B.

Looks like they still hold tarmac Rallies there (next one is 21st April)

Rod,

If you have a race programme for every race you have done, you must have a big loft

I don't keep programmes from every single meeting, but have tried to keep a couple from each circuit.
The travelling was a pain, especially as I drove the car on the road (thank goodness for AA relay). In 1973 it was £16 start money and prize money of about £40 for a class win. There was also a very special rate for staying at the Forth Bridge Motel.

I have just had my fiance copy a tape of the 1984 Season of the SMRC races at Ingliston onto a dvd, I would like to upload it onto Youtube but it is 1 hr 34 mins long and youtube only can only do 10 mins at a time!

What do you think?

I have a copy of the 1991 club season review - which covered FVJ FVL FRenault and CRXs - the Inglestone meeting is covered for both Vauxhall races..

Happy to lend out if you cover postage.... If nothing else - it funny as hell watching Plato and BVR smashing each other to pieces in FRen at Donnington....

Does anyone know of a Bob Snelson from Dunfermline that used to race in Ingilston in Special Saloons in the mid 70's? He raced a Fiat 128 that I am trying to trace.
