I believe it is true, and if the course car didn't bottom out through Turn 5, the driver (and Pedders employee) wouldn't have even noticed. But the look on his face when he did check was one that I wish I had a camera for

Why did it bottom out? Too many CAMS employees in the car carrying their pay checks with them?

Does the Pedders sponsorship contract state that all course cars must be fitted with pedders suspension components?
Or do Nissan who provide the cars and also pay sponsorship stipulate what is fitted to their cars? |

Rmour has it that they have King Springs under them, with Pedders just coming on as a Sponsor.
I agree, it isn't looking after your sponsors very well. The driver, one of Pedders key people was not impressed and no, he wasn't a Pedder. |

I doubt Nissan would be happy with people messing with their product. And you'd think that the factory suspension on the GT-R would be more than good enough to do the job anyway???

Hmmmmmmmm, the Safety Car is not the one that's built for speed. The Safety car need to circulate at a modest speed to control the race when needed. Anyone listening to Race control can hear the commands such as "Safety Car increase speed to 80 kay" etc. Not the sort of thing that would punish the suspension on any car.
The Course Car, used to open, close and inspect the track is the vehicle that is driven at speed. But, and its a big but...... When was the last time you saw the Course Car closing the circuit on TV? Who would care if the Course Car that closes the track just before pit lane opens, 10 minutes or longer, before the start of the warm up lap, before the race, while the TV heads are talking their own brand of "Punching out some good numbers" kind of crap, bottoms out over a bump. Really folks, get over it. |

Does Pedders make a suspension kit for a Nissan Skyline GT-R?

This discussion has nothing to do with the Nissan Skyline GTR SAFETY CAR
The discussion is about the Nissan Maxima COURSE CAR |

Makes more sense, a Nissan Maxima has the suspension dynamics of a sponge cake... goes like stink in a straight line, but the tyre squeal isnt a good sign of cornering speed...
Do Pedders make a suspension kit for a Nissan Maxima? I know from past experience that Kings Springs will make springs for pretty much anything if you give them the appropriate dimensions. I am also sure I read somewhere that Pedders was trying to get out of the spring making business, and resell product made elsewhere... Meantime I drive past the old Lovells Springs factory every day at Homebush and wonder.......... Lovells blue, Kings yellow... you could tell who got what from where once |

That is totally irrelevant to the discussion.
Pedders are now sponsoring your sport and mine, and you would think that the powers to be would actually use one of their sponsors products, they seem to push the grog line pretty hard, like banning other RTD's from ciruits, they are being a little inconsistent here. |

So in your mind because someone sponsors the sport everyone that participates should use the product? So all teams should use Pedders? Have you thought that Pedders are not the best thing out there. No one made them sponsor it. |

Gezz, you are hardwork
No, not all teams should use the sponsors products, but the place where the money is going should use the sponsors products, I thought that was a given. The cars are supplied to V8SC by Nissan, someone has taken time to put King Springs (who are not a sponsor) on the Maxima, so I would have thought it obvious that Pedders should go on there. Maybe Scott Pedder should ring V8SC and offer to put a set on, it would probably make it handle better from what I saw and after taliking to the driver. |

One of them was, either the one who changed them, or the one who didn't want to give a refund! Even if it was 6 months down the track. |

Was it someone from VESA or someone from Nissan? Nissan supply all of the cars to VESA along with a dollar sponsorship amout, but who prepares, maintains and repairs the cars? I would have thought since its Nissan's product circulating in the public eye and their paying for it, they would control all of that or at least have a major say in whats done and how its done? Maybe Nissan have an existing arrangement with King Springs, or Pedders do not make springs for a Maxima (Can't imagine their being a big market for aftermarket hot up bits for Maxima's? then again maybe old clem wants the toughest looking Maxima in the Lawn Bowls carpark?), Or maybe VESA are just rude and don't look after their sponsors? |
