Didn't know the NW series is running on the Speedway...this further diminishes the Speedway's "brand" IMO. Then again, running "Daytona" Prototypes there is probably the low point of the speedway's history.

So with the Trucks at Eldora this week, I guess that there will be no night race at IRP tonight? Or is it ORP? QRP? PRP?

Since they mutilated the Speedway for the F1, they might as well roll out the Grand Am for the roadcourse. It's dumb they didn't show it live and treat it as a Grand Am major.

I enjoyed the last few laps of an otherwise pedestrian Nationwide race but Kyle always had it tied up despite heroic efforts from Scott.

Since Trevor mainly competes in Nationwide, I will put this here.

Quote:
Daytona 500 Winner Trevor Bayne Diagnosed with MS: Daytona 500 winner and Roush Fenway Racing (RFR) driver Trevor Bayne has announced that he has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (explanation of MS). Bayne - 22 years old - has undergone extensive testing at the Mayo Clinic and has been cleared by doctors and NASCAR to compete behind the wheel. "I've never been more driven to compete," said Bayne. "My goals are the same as they've been since I started racing. I want to compete at the highest level and I want to win races and championships. I am in the best shape I've ever been in and I feel good," added Bayne. "There are currently no symptoms and I'm committed to continuing to take the best care of my body as possible. I will continue to trust God daily and know that His plan for me is what is best. As for now, I want to close out the season strong this weekend at Homestead and then shift my focus on getting ready to compete for the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) Championship in 2014. I have a great team, a great family and great people all around me. I have been truly blessed in life and I look forward to what my future holds."
"We are 100% supportive of Trevor and his ability to compete in a race car," said Roush Fenway team owner Jack Roush. "I have full confidence in Trevor and his partners have all expressed that same confidence and support. As with all of our drivers, we look forward to standing behind Trevor and providing him with all of the tools he needs as he continues to develop in his young career."(see full press release at Roush Fenway Racing's website)(11-12-2013)

Bayne must be a looney. How can he trust in God when this supposedly omniscient and omnipotent deity has chosen to afflict him with a progressively debilitating disease that will firstly put him in a wheelchair, and then eventually kill him?

First thing I thought of was Rousch trying to sell sponsorship to pharma companies that make MS drugs. Kind of like Kimbell in Indycar. There was a MS awareness car in the K&N East race at Road ATL.

Not necessary so. My wife has been diagnose with MS for three years now. If fact, we just visited with her neurologist yesterday to review her most recent MRI and it came back with no new legions in the brain. Now she only needs 1 MRI every year instead of 2 . Her drug therapy is giving herself one shot a day. There are also more new drugs in trials now then in any other time. If it is found early it can be treated and controlled.

Travis Pastrana has ended his fledgling NASCAR career, citing poor results, a lack of sponsorship, and a desire to spend more time with his family.
The 30-year-old motocross and X Games icon posted a message on his Facebook page on Monday announcing that he will step away from stock cars after this weekend's Nationwide Series finale at Homestead.
"This past season of NASCAR has been an awesome experience," he wrote. "I have made a lot of great friends, had a lot of fun and gained a new appreciation for all aspects of this sport.
"Jack Roush and everyone at Roush Fenway Racing have gone above and beyond to try and help me succeed and I am truly grateful for their support. I would like to thank them and all of the other people who stuck behind me during the last two years as I tried to learn how to make a successful career in NASCAR.
"It's tough to step back now and prove the critics were right, but unfortunately my results were not good enough to get the sponsors I needed to appropriately fund next season."
Pastrana made his NASCAR debut with a sprinkling of appearances in the lower-level K&N Series in 2011. Plans to make his Nationwide debut that same year were derailed by injuries sustained in an X Games crash that ruled him out for several months. He made his first Nationwide starts in 2012, achieving a best result of 13th, and moved to Roush to race full time this year. Pastrana goes into Homestead having achieved just four top-10 finishes, and admitted that he struggled to adapt to the requirements of the car.
"I hate to quit and I hate to fail, but sometimes things work out as they should," Pastrana said. "I've never been able to figure out the finesse required in pavement racing and that is disappointing."
Pastrana said that he plans to support his wife Lyn-Z's professional skateboarding career and spend more time with his newborn daughter, but that he intends to continue to compete in rallycross and off-road.

I hear what you say. But better, surely, for it not to be inflicted upon you at all in the first instance?
