New Reg LMP1 / 2

Moderator - merge as you will...

..but IMO the new reg cars are real ugly. The twin hoops and small rear wings are aesthetically unappealing. Things just look out of synch' and (dare I say it - ****). This is not to sleight the growing strength of LMES and the prototype ranks and yes, everything is relative (and in a pure world the new cars are real snorters) but this is purely a comparative note vis a vis the last generation and (dare I say it, my beloved and much lamented Group C)

What do other readers think?

Early signs were not encouraging (I'm thinking of Nasamax in particular) but Lola have done a wonderful job with the B05/40. The proportions are right and the overall look of the car is breathtakingly beautiful (I might have gone a little over the top there!). Although the aeros need to be far less expansive, designers can overcome this, and in Lola's case, already have.

I think we need to wait until 2006 when a couple of German factories will offer their interpretation of the modern prototype.

Bentley03 -yep I concur. Lets wait for Ingolstadt (surely), Stuttgart (hopefully) and Coventry ( I dream) to reveal their interpretations.

There is a difference that is quite noticable.
To the untrained eye, there is nothing that looks SO out of the ordinary.

Like what is said...wait for Coventry, Stuttgart, and maybe even Maranello
