IRL on Aussie TV

Last year we got all the races live or delayed on FOX Sports, yet in the FOXTEL guide for this March i can't see any IRL races listed to be shown anywhere. I hope this is just a mistake and that we get to see the races, especially as this is shaping up to be the best IRL season ever.

ummm , not sure what kind of service you guys have , but I just finished watching the race live on ESPN , which is part of my sports package , so if you can get this through some sort of package then it is well worth checking out.

Im through Austar and they have it as an option but im not sure about the others.

In Australia, CART and IRL have swapped cable providers. IRL is now shown on OptusVision, on the ESPN Network, while CART, presumably, will now be shown on FOX Sports on Foxtel.

hmmmmm , im not to sure about CART being shown on Fox sports at all ???

would be good if they did but I think I will have to go back to the good old channel ten telecasts a day late for CART

am I right in saying that if you have Foxtel you dont have ESPN and Optus viewrs dont have Fox sports ????

i dunno but Im with Austar as I said and I get all of em.

the only sports channels on FOXTEL are FOX Sports, FOX Sports TWO and FOX Footy Channel.

I can't believe we won't see this season, this also means i'll have to watch the Indy 500 delayed by nearly a day on channel 9 instead of live.

no mention of any indy racing on foxtel sports calender - maybe indy 500 will get a show :confused: ..... just read my new foxtel guide and was disappointed when i couldnt see the opening round. having 2 cable networks sux......

well there seems to be some dialogue going on between Optus and Foxtel at the moment , stay tuned to that folks this could be what you are waiting for , with a bit of luck you may just end up with all the sports channels that i have ( Fox sports one and two , C7 sports and ESPN)

Marcus, from a Believe, the Australian Broadcasting Authority has a list of major sporting events, that if they not shown on the free to air commerical channels are shown on the ABC. So, if indeed the Indy 500 is on the list, then it'll be on TV, either 9 or the ABC.

A good example is the rugby league a few years back - remember the ABC you to show ARL matches on Sunday arvo at about 2pm?

DNQ- You're right, but I don't believe that the Indy 500 is on that list. Remember back a couple of years, Ch9 had the rights to race, but they still made more $$ out of the time slot by showing infomercials...

ahhhhhhh but they have the IRL Moff and live bikes , I mainly watch the sports channels if ya couldnt tell
