When was the last time someone has taken the pole in Champ Car racing, and then went on to lead the race from start to finish?

Close but no cigar! Moreno led most of the laps at Cleveland last year, but not all the way from start to finish. (I checked out the statistics 'cause I couldn't remember, and there were ten laps in the middle of that race when Moreno didn't lead.)

I honestly can't remember if anyone else has done such a feat that Helio did yesterday.

It WAS quite a feat. Helio really owned that race.

And yet - did you notice that ABC & Paul Page tried to tell us that there were 2 lead changes and 2 leaders?

I frequently wonder if Page and Parakeet are watching the same race I am watching. And I wish they would not cheer so relentlessly for Anybody But Penske.

It was a relief that Mikey was the first man out so we didn't have to hear about him any more after the first few laps.

As for the topic at hand, didn't Dario win $1 million at a race once because he won from Pole? Isn't there a kitty for the guy that does it?

Bryan Herta took pole at Laguna Seca in 1999, led every lap and won the race.

The nearest anyone got since then was Helio in 2000 at Laguna Seca. He led all but 2 laps.

99 races have been won from pole since CART began in 1979!

It was a shame the pit-stops were always made during causion periods, there was really nothing between the top 6 cars. I can't believe this was the same place that held such great race in 1998.

Well there have always been ups and downs at different tracks. Michigan has rarely been exciting but it surely was last year!

I watched the whole race waiting for some overtaking & ended up wishing I'd watched a re-run of one of this year's GP's instead.
