Jos and Jordan : its over and out
Just been reading on Dutch ceefax and on Jos'website : Its over and out. "we did our best to come to an agreement, but despite all time and effort we couldn't agree on all points...
So i guess this is the final word.... love, bridget (who's not having a great evening) |

Good news. Hopefully Allan McNish will now be signed up.

I hope and expect mr. Perridon will stand by his statement that in this case Trust will definetly not sponsor Jordan. Maybe the sponsormoney can be used for another Dutch driver. Cause it seems to me the "end of an era", for Dutch motorsport at least

Well the coming season will be less interesting for me without Verstappen. Quote:

What was the stumbling block? On the face of it the Jordan seat was the only option for Jos, whilst the new Jordan wasn't exactly groaning with new sponsors stickers.
Surely a match? I'm not particularly a Jos fan, but I can't see who else in the possible running for the seat, was a better option, unless they had more money - which looks unlikely. |

The Trust stickers were removed from the car after the initial shake-down test.

so Jos was willing to make some consessions about the driver contract but Jordan would'nt meet Jos in the middle. |

According to grandprix.com there are other drivers with almost as much money. (including Pantano - I'd love to see him in F1).

So what is it with Mr Perridon & Jos?
Should the investors of Trust be concerned that its an "eggs in one basket" strategy that has left Trust with various layers of egg on face? |

I have no idea. The whole episode has been absurd.

I know, I wonder if EJ can find a driver who will agree to his therms before the season starts, otherwise he'l have to drive the 2nd car himself.

We’ve had this before during these ongoing negotiations. Steve & Bridget, just relax and wait. The first time negotiations ended cause Peridon (=Trust) lost his nerve. After that they started negotiating again, through Huub Rothengatter. Well, we all know Huub is a tough negotiator and is there to get the job done in the benefit of Jos. So he and EJ clashed. Well, they’ll probably clash again and again, but in the end it’s will be best for Jos, Trust and Jordan to get an agreement. Just relax and wait for the outcome. It ain’t over till it’s over. And NGE don’t open the champagne bottle yet….

Jaap Van Laagan, Stefan De Groot and Door Knobs are all better than Jos anyway.

there are big talents in Holland but they are not it. the names: Giedo van der Garde(in F3 euroseries for Signature next year, in Renault driver development program, discovered by Jos) and Paul Meijer(who will probably race in Formula renault V6) Last edited by steve nielsen; 5 Feb 2004 at 22:12. |

There has been noise about a lot of people possibly lining up for Jordan, including most recently, Zsolt... despite the Minardi signing....

Over at Autosport.com, Jos has apparently announced he wont be in F1 in 2004.... and nor will Trust

"...unless another opportunity arises during the season..." So there still may be a chance he will fill in a vacancy if one of the other drivers gets released or injured. We'll have to wait and see.
