Anybody else there for the first 9 Hour?

my mother was and I have a shooting stick at home with the paddock badge on it (along with a load of other period paddock badges from Goodwood, Silverstone and Snet as well as Towcester races!) I keep meaning to bring it to a Revival but probably best I dont as it would be a shame to lose it.

Simon,
I was 15 years old, and I never met the lady, anyway Dad was with me.

May we be like ships passing in the Gents again?

Bob.

I have a letter written by my father to my grandmother telling her about the easter weekend he spent at Goodwood ,1955. Here are some extracts:-
"Monday was lovely and they had a record crowd for the racing...they think it was 48000....so everyone was very pleased.Although there were no papers (Easter) it had a mention with film on television on Saturday and a definite plug on sound on Monday morning in the news so perhaps commercial television has something to be said for it..."

" I drove a Sunbeam III with Alpine engine and gearbox and it goes very well..." " Also a Morris Minor with an A40 engine.."

" I forgot to tell xxxxxx that we had Duncan Hamiltons D Type Jaguar in the garage all weekend "

Happy days!
