Best riders of 2003

The season had so much great races in every class. Rossi had mid-season slump but he recovered with 6 wins in last 7 races. Gibernau had also great season, and the Ducatis were better than excepted.

Poggiali won championship in his first season in 250cc, while Rolfo struggled in the last race. Elias had too much bad races, as had de Puniet.

In 125cc, Pedrosa kept good pace throughout the year. Sad end for his season in Phillip Island. Nine different winners and many good riders who didn't win. Interesting to see, how long will the streak of races with no one winning two in a row take?

But here's my list of Top 5 riders in each category:

MotoGP:
1 Rossi - no words
2 Gibernau - Best form of his career
3 Capirossi - Good move to go to Ducati
4 Biaggi - No real challenge to Rossi even with Honda
5 Hayden - best rookie

250cc:
1 Rolfo - great job with inferior bike
2 Poggiali - had best machine, but was more consistent than de Puniet and Elias
3 Elias - more wins than anyone in this class
4 de Puniet - Finally a winner
5 Battaini - best private rider

125cc:
1 Pedrosa - Only one who was able to dominate race in dry conditions
2 de Angelis - very unlucky to not get a win
3 Barbera - great jump to the top
4 Stoner - fantastic rider to watch
5 Jenkner - After first win it looked good, but then 4 DNF's in a row.
