No, during the race there were actually some IMSA commercial, so I guess NASCAR is actually starting to care and isn't afraid to promote their other series.

Daytona 500 attendance is at least 3-5 times that of the 24hr race at the same track. Nascar isnt worried. But the cross promotion should be more.

We'll see if it works out. I gotta point out the Grand-Am/NASCAR crossover was a failure though.

Perhaps if FOX leads from a NASCAR race into IMSA race on TV. Indycar was sure helped in the ratings by doing this on NBCsports.

I think they did do that with one or two highlights packages this year, and the highlights packages had some (comparatively) ridiculous Nielsen ratings, almost double what Indycar gets on a regular basis.

On which channels are we comparing?

If FOX (network) vs NBCSN and not ABC, even a broadcast of the history of vaccuum cleaner attachments at 6am would receive better ratings than ICS on NBCN prime time.

The highlights packages that got the bigger ratings were squeezed on Fox if I remember correctly.

Porsche didn't dump the program insofar as that Manthey doesn't want to trot the globe. Porsche has just chosen to not support anyone else with a full factory effort.

Expect Proton to pick up the "factory partner" role.

This year especially was a race of attrition in PRO. I recall only the winning Corvette not having significant issues. All the others finished behind the AM winning Ferrari

Corvette always has HORRIBLE luck in one of the cars, usually #74/64 (though last time around they had switcheroo day). The surviving car then either triumphs in glory or does mediocre

I'll laugh and cry when Aston Martin has the fastest car and they look set to win but somehow they crash or have a puncture. Everyone is coming with something new so it's going to be nice to pick apart the car specs and see who has the best car truly or are being gifted by bop.

I would love to see one thing change. Use P2 Cost capped type setup. and P1 type rules for hybrids/fuel flow etc.

You have X amount to build the car to, must be able to be sold to anyone, and it's wide open on design/aero/materials etc... you just have a hard limit of selling cost.

Oh. And you have to build AND sell 50 street versions utilizing the same tub +/- cage.

would your proposed cost be just cap just be for mods to the road car or include the road car price? Because if a Corvette costs 1/3 of the Ferrari, would that mean Ferrari has less money to play with?
